Trustee for Ellesmere Cemetery appointed.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

JAMES INWOOD

to be a Trustee, in the place of Robert Bruce Willis, deceased, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Ellesmere Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons appointed by warrants under the hand of His Excellency the Governor.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this seventh day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

Notice is hereby given that the following special order was made on Friday, 19th February, 1897, and confirmed on the 30th March, 1897:—

“That the Board resolve to make, by special order, a by-law in respect of the passing of traction-engines over bridges and culverts.”

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Moa Road District, County of Taranaki.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Moa Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

Moa Road Board.

RESULT of poll of ratepayers of the Waiongona Special Rating District, taken 3rd July, 1897, upon the following proposals:—

Proposal to raise a loan for Waiongona Road Special Rating District, upon which a poll will be taken upon the 3rd day of July, 1897—

  1. To drain, form, and gravel the Waiongona Road.
  2. To borrow for such purpose the sum of £100 under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886.”
  3. To strike as security for such loan a special rate of 2½d. in the pound.
  4. To constitute the Waiongona Road Special Rating District, to comprise the following lands: viz., Subdivisions 1, 6, 8, 9, of Section 103, Moa, and part Section 103, Moa.

Total number of ratepayers on special roll, 4; total number of votes exercisable, 4: Total number of votes recorded for the proposal, 3; total number of votes against the proposal, nil; total number of votes not recorded, 1.

I hereby declare the proposal carried.

I Battery, N.Z. Regiment Artillery Volunteers (Oamaru),

being formed into an infantry corps from the 10th June, 1897, with its present seniority in the Volunteer Force, and under the designation of “The Queen’s Rifle Volunteers.”
