Land taken for a Further Portion of the Railway from the
Main Line of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway to Oteramika and
Toitois: Seaward Bush Branch, Further Part of Maitaura
Section.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken for a further portion of the
railway from the main line of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway to
Oteramika and Toitois, Seaward Bush Branch, namely, a
further part of Maitaura Section:
And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to
be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land
for the purpose hereinafter specified have been observed and
performed:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section
one hundred and sixty-seven of “The Public Works Act,
1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise
enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for
the further portion of the said line of railway hereinafter
specified.

17961, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public
Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Welling-
ton, and thereon coloured as stated in Schedule.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir James
Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, Adminis-
trator of the Government in and over Her
Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its De-
pendencies, at the Government House, at Wel-
lington; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, this thirtieth day of June, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-seven.

Private Land in the Parish of Hikurangi taken for a Tram-
way to be used in Connection with the Working of a Coal-
mine.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Hikurangi Collieries (Limited) has
made application, under the provisions of the sixty-
first section of “The Coal-mines Act, 1891,” to take the land
described in the Schedule hereto for the purpose of con-
structing thereon a tramway to connect the said company’s
coal-mine with the Whangarei-Kamo Railway Extension:
And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to
be observed and performed prior to the issue of this Procla-
mation have been observed and performed, and it is desirable
that the said land so applied for as aforesaid shall be taken
for the purposes hereinafter specified:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me
by “The Coal-mines Act, 1891,” and “The Public Works
Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in any-
wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that, from and after the date of the publication
hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in
the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purpose of con-
structing thereon a tramway to connect the said company’s
coal-mine with the Whangarei-Kamo Railway Extension,
and to be used in connection with the working of a coal-
mine.
ERRATUM.—In the Order in Council delegating powers to the East Gore (Gordon) Domain Board, published in New
Zealand Gazette, No. 44, of the 6th May, 1897, page 971, for “ John McGibbon, jun.,” read “ John McGibbon.”
