We have examined the books, vouchers, and accounts of the Trustees, Executors, and Agency Company of New Zealand (Limited) (which include the accounts of constituents) for the twelve months ending the 31st March, 1897, and certify that in our opinion the above balance-sheet fully and fairly represents the position of the company’s affairs at date of balance; and we have also seen the securities held by the company on behalf of its constituents, and on its own behalf, and found them in order.

THE NASEBY PASTORAL AND INVESTMENT COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 202 of “The Companies Act, 1882,” that a General Meeting of the members of this company will be held at George’s Hall, Naseby, on Tuesday, the 24th day of August, 1897, at 2.30 o’clock in the afternoon, to receive an account of the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the company’s property disposed of, and to hear any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator (and also to determine by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of).

IN THE MATTER OF THE FREE PRESS NEWSPAPER AND PUBLISHING COMPANY (LIMITED).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company, duly convened, and held in the Borough Council Chambers, Balclutha, on the 26th day of April, 1897, the following special resolution was duly passed; and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the members of the said company, also duly convened, and held at the same place on the 11th day of May, 1897, the following resolution was duly confirmed:—

“That the Free Press Newspaper and Publishing Company (Limited) be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of ‘The Companies Act, 1882’; and that William Robert Thornhill, of Balclutha, Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up, at a remuneration of ten pounds ten shillings.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership which has for some time past been carried on by FREDERICK WILSON and RICHARD THORP, under the style or firm of “F. Wilson and Co.,” in the trade or business of Bootmakers, at Hastings Street and Emerson Street, Napier, at Hastings, and at Wanganui, was this day dissolved by mutual consent. And notice is also given that the business of the late firm

will be carried on by the said Frederick Wilson at Emerson Street, Napier, aforesaid, in the name of “F. Wilson, late F. Wilson and Co.”; and that the business of the late firm will be carried on by the said Richard Thorp in the name of “R. Thorp and Co., late F. Wilson and Co.,” at Hastings Street, Napier, and at Hastings and Wanganui aforesaid. And notice is further given that all debts owing to the late firm at its Emerson Street, Napier, branch are to be paid to the said Frederick Wilson; and that all debts owing to the late firm at its Hastings Street, Napier, branch, and at Hastings and Wanganui, are to be paid to the said Richard Thorp. And notice is further given that all debts owing by the late firm will be paid by the said Richard Thorp.

NOTICE TO NATIVE OWNERS OF LAND.

UNDER the provisions of section 2, subsection (1) of “The Rating Act Amendment Act, 1896,” the Wairoa County Council hereby requires the respective Native owners of the lands as per Schedule hereunder, by writing under the hands of a majority of them, to nominate one of such owners of each block of land to represent all the owners and occupiers for the purposes of rating.
