Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in the Wellington Land District.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was heretofore duly reserved for public buildings, and is a reserve in Class II. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” and such land has not been vested in trust in any society, body corporate, or trustees: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient that such reserve shall be appropriated for the purposes of a site for a public school:

Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the second section of “The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1889,” do by this notification hereby declare that the said reserve shall, from and after the thirty-first day of May instant, be appropriated for the purposes of a site for a public school, under Class III. of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881”; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, being Section No. 4, Mangamahoe Village, containing 2 roods 31 perches, more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this twenty-sixth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Reserve in the Auckland Land District.

WHEREAS by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” it is amongst other things enacted that the Governor may make, change, exchange, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not, if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserve or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose; or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor may, by notice gazetted, declare his intention to make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto from a site for a public hall to a site for offices and buildings of the General Government.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 12 perches, more or less, being Lot No. 38 in the Parish of Okura, Block XI., Waiwera Survey District, Auckland Land District. Bounded towards the north-east by a road, 468 links; towards the south by a road, 598 links; and towards the north-west by a road, 477 links, to the point of commencement.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this twenty-eighth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

Land temporarily reserved in the Land District of Auckland.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Land District of Auckland described in the Schedule hereto, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified in each case at the end of the descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being Sections Nos. 1 and 2 of Block LII. of the Town of Rotorua, and containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less. Bounded towards the north by Sala Street, 250 links; towards the east by Section No. 5 of Block LII. of the Town of Rotorua, 200 links; towards the south by Section No. 3 of the same block, 250 links; and towards the west by Fenton Street, 200 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a reserve for the use of the aboriginal natives of the Ngati-Te-Kohu Tribe.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being Sections Nos. 3 and 4 of Block LII. of the Town of Rotorua, and containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 2 of Block LII. of the Town of Rotorua, 250 links; towards the east by Section No. 11 of the same block, 200 links; towards the south by Froude Street, 250 links; and towards the west by Fenton Street, 200 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a reserve for the use of the aboriginal natives of the Ngati-Tiki Tribe.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being Sections Nos. 1 and 2 of Block LI. of the Town of Rotorua, and containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less. Bounded towards the north by Froude Street, 250 links; towards the east by Section No. 5 of Block LI. of the Town of Rotorua, 200 links; towards the south by Section No. 3 of the same block, 250 links; and towards the west by Fenton Street, 200 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a reserve for the use of the aboriginal natives of the Ngati-Ruamano Tribe.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this twenty-eighth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.

Bounded towards the north-east by Tarewa No. 12, 420 links; towards the south-east by Tarewa Road, 285 and 71 links; and towards the south-west by the Auckland-Rotorua Railway, 557 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being Section No. 1 of Block LXII. of the Town of Rotorua, and containing by admeasurement 5 acres 3 roods, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by the Tarewa East Block, 1224 links; towards the south-east by a right line being the production in a south-westerly direction of the south-eastern boundary of the block last-mentioned, 127 links; towards the south by Pukuatua Street, 958 links; towards the south-west by the Auckland-Rotorua Railway, 636 links; and towards the north-west by Tarewa Road, 118 and 307
