to be an Inspector of Stock in terms of “The Stock Act, 1893,” an Agent to appear and act for Her Majesty in all suits in the Magistrate’s Court brought for the recovery of rates or sums of money in the nature thereof payable to Her Majesty under “The Stock Act, 1893,” and an Inspector under and for the purposes of “The Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1882,” and its amendments. THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Ohinemuri County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

OHINEMURI COUNTY.—PAEROA WATER-SUPPLY DISTRICT.
PROPOSAL to raise a loan of £7,000, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and the several amendments of the said Acts, for the purpose of providing a water-race from the Tarariki Creek for supplying water for domestic and other purposes to the ratepayers and inhabitants of and in the Paeroa Water-supply District.
I hereby give notice that at the poll on the 5th day of April, 1897, the votes recorded in respect of the above proposal were as follow :—
For the proposal, 131; against the proposal, nil.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers have voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half in number of the votes which can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I declare the proposal to be carried.

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT, to secure the repayment of a loan of £225 raised under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of forming and metalling the Hursthouse Road, and erect a bridge on same, and to form a portion of the Lepper Road south of the Hursthouse Road, starting from the junction of the Hursthouse and Lepper Roads,—

A special rate of ⅚d. in the pound to be made and levied over the following lands, which are hereby constituted the “Hursthouse and Lepper Roads Special Rating District” : Sections 133 (in two subdivisions), 134 (in three subdivisions), 135 (in four subdivisions), 136, 137 (in two subdivisions), 140, 100 (in two subdivisions), Tarurutangi ; and part 99, Moa.
Such rate to be an annual recurring rate for twenty-six years, and to be payable in two half-yearly instalments, on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each year.

WIROKINO ROAD BOARD.—SPECIAL ORDER.
NOTICE is hereby given that the following special order was made on Tuesday, the 23rd February, 1897, and confirmed on Saturday, the 20th March, 1897 :—
That this Board now make a special rate of ¼d. in the pound on the rateable values of the following properties, namely : Sections 4 to 18, Block V., Arawaru S.D., 29 to 32, 57 to 60, 116 to 137, 149, 150A, 151, 153, 155, 157, 159, 161, 163, 164, 164A, 165, 170 to 177, 211 to 216, all inclusive, Tokomaru Township—the above-mentioned sections constituting the Tokomaru Township Special Rating District—to provide for interest and other annual charges on a loan of £450, to be raised under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and its amendments, for the purpose of metalling portions of the Tokomaru South, Karaka, Konini, and Totara Streets, Tokomaru Township; such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years, to become due and payable in two equal instalments on the 1st days of June and December in each and every succeeding year.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”
