Meeting of the General Assembly for the Despatch of Business.

To the LEGISLATIVE COUNCILLORS of the Colony of New Zealand and
the MEMBERS elected to serve in the HOUSE of REPRESENTATIVES
of the said Colony, summoned and called to a Meeting of the
General Assembly of the said Colony, at the City of Wellington,
on the second day of the month of April next to have been
commenced and held, and to every of you—GREETING:
A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Meeting of the General Assembly stands prorogued to the
second day of April next: Nevertheless, for certain causes and
considerations I have thought fit further to prorogue the same to Tuesday,
the sixth day of the month of April next, so that neither you nor any of you,
on the said second day of April next, at the City of Wellington, are to be
held constrained to appear; commanding and by the tenor of these presents
enjoining you and each of you, and all others in this behalf interested, that on
Tuesday, the sixth day of the month of April next, personally you be and
appear, for the DESPATCH of BUSINESS, at half-past two o'clock in the afternoon,
in the Parliament Houses, situate in Molesworth Street, in the City of Wellington,
there to take into consideration the state and welfare of the said Colony of New
Zealand, and therein to do as may seem necessary.

Knight, Chief Justice, Administrator of the Government in and
over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
at the Government House, at Wellington; and issued under the
Seal of the said Colony, this twenty-sixth day of March, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven.
