All that piece or parcel of land, called or known as the “Flukey Paddock,” containing about 74 acres, situated in the Te Mahanga Run, Te Mata Survey District, Hawke’s Bay County.

Commissioner’s Decisions under Tariff Acts.

Wellington, 10th March, 1897.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Hon. the Commissioner of Trade and Customs has decided to interpret the Customs and Excise Duties Acts in relation to the under-mentioned articles as follows:—

NOTE.—“Not otherwise enumerated” appears as n.o.e.; “other kinds” as o.k.; “articles and materials suited only for, and to be used solely in, the fabrication of goods in the colony” as a. & m.s. Articles marked thus * are revised decisions.

97/90. Machine circle-cutting; as machinery n.o.e. 20 per cent.

Notice under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have for the purposes of “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894,” made due inquiries with respect to the land described in the Schedule hereunder written and the owner thereof, and have, in respect of the said land, given the notices prescribed by section 4 of the said Act, and have in all respects complied with the provisions of the said section: And whereas I have not thereby ascertained who the owner is, and believe that such owner is not in the colony, nor has such owner established his title to the said land, as required by the said Act: I hereby give notice that the said land is, under and by virtue of the said Act, vested in me as the Public Trustee as aforesaid, as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the said Act. The value of the land is less than £100.

Dated at Wellington, this 9th day of March, 1897.


SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land, containing 1 rood, more or less, situate in the Town of Oamaru, being Section No. 12, Block LXXII., on the map of the said town. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 23, 100 links; towards the east by Section No. 11, 250 links; towards the south by Chelmer Street, 100 links; and towards the west by Section No. 13, 250 links.

Notice under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have, for the purposes of “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894,” made due inquiries with respect to the lands described in the Schedule hereunder written and the owner thereof, both being Crown-granted to one H. A. Drake, and have, in respect of the said lands, given the notices prescribed by section 4 of the said Act, and have in all respects complied with the provisions of the said section: And whereas I have not thereby ascertained who the owner is, and believe that such owner is not in the colony, nor has such owner established his title to the said lands as required by the said Act: I hereby give notice that the said lands are, under and by virtue of the said Act, vested in me, as the Public Trustee as aforesaid, as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the said Act, the value of the said land being less than £100.

Dated at Wellington, this 4th day of March, 1897.

All that parcel of land, containing 57 acres 3 roods 11 perches, more or less, being northern portion of Section 73, Block XII., Tangihua Survey District; and also a parcel of land, containing 56 acres, more or less, being northern portion of Section 75 in the aforesaid block and district.

Maximum temperature in shade 76°, minimum 45°·5; mean temperature of dew-point, 53°·9; mean humidity, 74. On 27th, at 9·4 p.m., slight double earth-shock.
