Proclaiming a Road as closed through Private Lands in
the Ongo Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by
section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, James
Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the
Colony of New Zealand, do by this notice hereby proclaim
as closed the road in the Rangitikei County hereinafter de-
scribed, that is to say:—

Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, Administrator
of the Government in and over Her Majesty’s
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
at the Government House, at Wellington; and
issued under the Seal of the said Colony, this
twenty-fifth day of February, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
seven.

Purposes of the Wellington–Napier Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, con-
venience, and enjoyment of the Wellington–Napier
Railway to take further land in Belmont Survey District,
in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of
the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections
twenty-eight and one hundred and sixty-seven of “The
Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and
authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.

Rural Lands in the Southland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section
of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New
Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby
declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twenty-
second day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven; and also that the lands mentioned in the said
Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase
or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable
stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be
sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold,
occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”
