Deep Creek, in the Provincial District of Nelson, declared
to be a Watercourse.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and fifty-second sec-
tion of "The Mining Act, 1891" (hereinafter termed
"the said Act"), it is enacted that the Governor in Council
may from time to time, by Proclamation published in the
Gazette, proclaim and declare that any watercourse shall be
a watercourse into which tailings, mining débris, and waste
water of any kind used in, upon, or discharged from any
claim or licensed holding shall be suffered to flow or be dis-
charged:
And whereas no less than ninety days' notice has been
published, in the manner provided by the said section, that
application has been made to the Governor to proclaim the
watercourse hereinafter mentioned and its tributaries to be
watercourses for the purposes of the said section mentioned:
And whereas no objection to the issue of the Proclamation
has been transmitted to the Governor, and His Excellency
has decided to exercise the powers conferred upon him by
the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of
the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, doth hereby proclaim and de-
clare that Deep Creek and its tributaries, in the Provincial
District of Nelson, shall be watercourses into which tailings,
mining débris, and waste water of every kind used in, upon,
or discharged from any claim or licensed holding adjacent to
such watercourse shall be suffered to flow or be discharged;
and, with the like advice and consent, His Excellency doth
hereby prescribe that this Proclamation shall take effect on
and after the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred
and ninety-seven.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Ad-
ministrator of the Government; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of Feb-
ruary, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-seven.

Recreation Reserve, Aroha Survey District.—Provisions of
"The Mining Act, 1891," relating to Mining Districts and
Wardens' Courts brought into Operation.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
section two hundred of "The Mining Act, 1891"
(hereinafter termed "the said Act"), and of all other powers
enabling me in this behalf, I, James Prendergast, Adminis-
trator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, do hereby proclaim and declare
that all the provisions of the said Act relating to mining
districts and to Wardens' Courts shall have operation within
the land described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
being Section No. 14a of Block IX., Aroha Survey District,
and containing by admeasurement 52 acres 1 rood 10
perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by
Section No. 18 of Block IX., Aroha Survey District, and un-
surveyed Crown lands, 3489 links; towards the south-east
by Section No. 14c of Block IX. aforesaid, 1609 links; to-
wards the south-west by Section No. 15 of the same block,
3495 links; and towards the north-west by a public road,
1624 links, to the point of commencement: be all the afore-
said linkages more or less.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Adminis-
trator of the Government, at the Government
House, at Wellington; and issued under the Seal
of the said Colony, this fifteenth day of February,
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-seven.

ERRATA.—In Gazette No. 9, page 227, 25th January, 1897, clause 28 of Regulations for conducting the Survey of
Land in New Zealand, in the third line, after the word "Reserve," insert the words "for approval," and read
"Reserve for approval at least 100 links," &c.
Also, in Gazette No. 12, page 391, 4th February, 1897, Land Transfer Survey Regulations, in clause 1, for the words
"of even date herewith," read "of 21st day of December, 1896."
Also, in Gazette No. 12, of the 4th February, 1897, page 364, under "Examination of Land Surveyors," for "17th
March next," read "18th March next."
