NOTICE to NATIVE OWNERS and LESSEES of a MEETING to be held at HARLE'S HALL, WAI-
TOTARA, at 9 o'clock a.m. on TUESDAY, the 9th
MARCH, 1897, to fix the Rent for NEW LEASES to
THOMAS HUTCHISON NICHOLSON and GEORGE
ALEXANDER NICHOLSON of Section 388 and Part
Sections 389, 390, and 394, Blocks VIII. and IX.,

(more or less), being Land comprised in Con-

and IX., and containing by admeasurement 672
acres and 8 perches (more or less), being the land
comprised in confirmed lease No. 39, to Thomas
Hutchison Nicholson, of Waverley, settler, as
assignee:

Whereas the above-named Thomas Hutchison
Nicholson and George Alexander Nicholson have
given notice to me, under the provisions of sec-
tion 8 of "The West Coast Settlement Reserves
Act, 1892," that they desire to obtain under that
section new leases of the land above described;
and I consider their application ought to be
given effect to: Now, therefore, I do hereby
appoint a meeting to take place between the
said Thomas Hutchison Nicholson and George
Alexander Nicholson and all the Native owners
of the above-described land, for the purpose of
fixing the rent to be paid for the said land for the
first twenty-one years of the new lease, and I fix
Harle's Hall, Waitotara, as the place where, and
Tuesday, the 9th March, 1897, at 9 o'clock in the
forenoon, as the time when, such meeting shall
take place.

Farmer, as lessee:

Whereas the above-named John Verry has given
notice to me, under the provisions of section 8 of
"The West Coast Settlement Reserves Act, 1892,"
that he desires to obtain under that section a
new lease of the land above described; and I
consider his application ought to be given effect
to: Now, therefore, I do hereby appoint a
meeting to take place between the said John

Whereas the above-named Samuel Woods has
given notice to me, under the provisions of sec-
tion 8 of "The West Coast Settlement Reserves
Act, 1892," that he desires to obtain under that
section a new lease of the land above described;
and I consider his application ought to be given
effect to: Now, therefore, I do hereby appoint
a meeting to take place between the said Samuel
Woods and all the Native owners of the above-
described land, for the purpose of fixing the rent
to be paid for the said land for the first twenty-
one years of the new lease; and I fix the Court-
house, Hawera, as the place where, and Thurs-
day, the 11th March, 1897, at 2 o'clock in the
afternoon, as the time when, such meeting shall
take place.
