NOTICE is hereby given that at the ordinary election of members of the Board of Governors of the Canterbury Agricultural College, held on the 6th instant, the following persons were duly elected, namely:—

DAVID McMILLAN, of Southbridge, Farmer, by the electors entered on the parliamentary electoral roll;

and

HENRY OVERTON, of Kirwee, Farmer, by the electors entered on the agricultural societies' electoral roll.

HAWKE'S BAY COUNTY COUNCIL.

LAND REQUIRED FOR ROAD.

PURSUANT to the provisions of "The Public Works Act, 1894," it is hereby notified that the Hawke's Bay County Council require the land described hereunder for the purpose of a public road. A plan, marked 99, showing position of same, will be open for public inspection at Nugent's accommodation-house, Maraekakaho, Hawke's Bay, at all reasonable hours, for a period of forty days from the date hereof.

All persons affected by the taking of the lands are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections thereto, and to serve the same upon the County Clerk at Napier before the expiration of forty days from the date hereof.

Description of Land.

All that piece or parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 8 acres and 25 perches, more or less, situate in the Heretaunga and Maraekakaho Survey Districts, and being portion of Ngatarawa Nos. 2A and 4 Blocks. Commencing at old peg xxxii.; thence bounded on the north by a public road line, 128·5 links; on the north-east by Ngatarawa No. 2A Block lines, 256·7 links, 7564·9 links, and 339 links respectively, to the Maraekakaho-Hastings Road; on the south by the Maraekakaho-Hastings Road line, 105·9 links; and on the south-east by Ngatarawa No. 4 Block lines, 276·3 links, 7553·3 links, and 256·5 links respectively, to the commencing-point. All as shown on a plan marked 99 (and therein coloured pink and green), now on view for a period of forty days from the date hereof at the accommodation-house, Maraekakaho, Hawke's Bay.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Fire Insurance Company of 1877 intends to cease to carry on fire insurance business in the Colony of New Zealand upon the expiration of three months from the publication of this notification.
