NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT WATER-RACE.
Otago Mining District, 11th December, 1896.
To the Warden at Roxburgh.
WE hereby give notice that we intend to construct a water-race to divert and use water for mining purposes, commencing at a point in the Teviot Stream about one mile and a half below the Roxburgh Amalgamated Mining and Sluicing Company’s dam, and terminating at Trig Station Y, Miller’s Flat. Pegs marked L.
The length of such race is twenty-five miles or thereabouts, and its intended course is westerly. Said race for last eighteen miles of its course passes through Block VI., Teviot District, and Block V., Benger District, and P.R.F. in Block VI., Teviot District, and Block V., Benger District, being freehold land of William Tyndall Scrimgeour.
The mean depth of such race is 3ft., and the mean breadth is 6ft.; and it is proposed to divert fifty Government heads of water. Cost of construction: £6,000. Time required for construction: Twelve months.
Numbers and dates of miners’ rights: Nos. 14587, 14588, 14589, 14590, 14591; all dated 5th September, 1896.
