Land taken for a School-site in the Pelorus Valley.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for a certain work, to wit, the purposes of a school-site in the Pelorus Valley District:

And whereas the Education Board of the District of Marlborough has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a school-site.

SCHEDULE.

The parcel of land mentioned hereunder:—

In the Marlborough Land District: as the said parcel of land is more particularly delineated on the plan marked as above mentioned, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above stated.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

Land set apart for an Improved-farm Special Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by the one hundred and sixty-second section of “The Land Act, 1892,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the block of land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart and declared open for special settlement.

SCHEDULE.

MANGATITI IMPROVED SMALL-FARM SETTLEMENT BLOCK.

All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 4,379 acres and 23 perches, more or less, being Section No. 22, Block XI., Makuri Survey District, and Sections Nos. 9, 9A, 13, 13A, 19, 19A, 23, and 23A, Block XV., Makuri Survey District: Sections Nos. 10, 15, 15A, 17, 17A, Block IV., Mount Cerberus Survey District; Sections Nos. 18 and 18A, Block V., Mount Cerberus Survey District; and Sections Nos. 1, 1A, 2, 2A, 4, 4A, 18, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27, Block VIII., Mount Cerberus Survey District: Sections Nos. 1, 1A, 3, 3A, 12, 12A, 12B, 15, 15A, 16, 16A, 17, 17A, 18, and 18A, Block I., Aohanga Survey District: and Sections Nos. 29 and 29A, Block IV., Puketoi Survey District: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 29890, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington.

Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Road in Waimate County.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the Hurunui–Waitaki Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a road:

And whereas it has been certified by the Minister for Railways that such land is not required for railway purposes: And whereas such land is situated in Waimate County, the local authority of which has consented to the issue of this Proclamation, and to maintain the fence dividing such land from the railway to the satisfaction of the Minister for Railways:

And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion that the said local authority can conveniently construct and maintain the said road and fence:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section one hundred and seventy-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be under the control of the Waimate County Council, and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, in the Waitaki Survey District, containing 6 acres and 9 perches, more or less, situate near Waihao Station on the said Hurunui–Waitaki Railway, being part of Reserve 1316, in Block XI., in said survey district, being a strip of land 100 links wide, and being bounded as follows: On the north by the road forming the northern boundary of Rural Section 19580; on the west by Rural Sections 19580 and 33916, and a road, a distance of 6060·2 links; on the south by a line drawn in continuation of the southern side of the road which forms the southern boundary of said Rural Section 33916; and on the east by a line parallel to and 100 links distant from the western boundary of Reserve 1316: as the said parcel of land is more particularly delineated upon the plan marked 7100, deposited in the office of the Minister for Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured purple.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

A NOTICE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of “The Land for Settlements Act, Amendment Act, 1895,” and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in that behalf, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, with the consent of the Ormond Road Board, being the local authority in whose district the said road-line is situated, do by this notice hereby proclaim as closed the road-line in Waimarie Settlement mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
