Revoking Proclamation setting apart Land in Block VIII.,
Wairoa Survey District, for Lease as a Village Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the sixth section of “The Land
Act, 1892,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that from and
after the day of the date hereof the Proclamation of the
eighteenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-four, setting apart the land described in the Schedule
hereto for lease as a village settlement, is hereby revoked.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT, WAIROA SURVEY DISTRICT,
MOMAHAKI VILLAGE SETTLEMENT.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
by admeasurement 911 acres 2 roods 25 perches, more or
less, situated in Block VIII., Wairoa Survey District, being
Section No. 399 and part of Sections Nos. 395 and 397.
Bounded towards the north-east by the Momahaki Stream;
towards the south-east by Section No. 394; towards the
south generally by a public road (known as the Momahaki
Road, intersecting Sections Nos. 395 and 397, and passing
Trig. Station V.), by Sections Nos. 398 and 400; and towards
the north-west by Sections Nos. 55, 57, 60, and 61.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies;
and issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
at the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-third day of November, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

Land taken for a Road in connection with the Hurunui-
Waitaki Railway, Branch from the Racecourse to South-
bridge, with a Sub-branch to Little River, and thence to
Akaroa.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken, under “The Public Works
Act, 1894,” for a certain public work, to wit, the construc-
tion of a road in connection with the Hurunui-Waitaki
Railway, Branch from the Racecourse to Southbridge, with
a sub-branch to Little River, and thence to Akaroa :
And whereas an agreement for the taking of the estate in
fee-simple of the said land has been entered into, and it has
been made to appear that such agreement is sufficient for
the purposes intended to be effected thereby :
And whereas a plan has been prepared in duplicate show-
ing accurately the position and extent of the said land, and
the Minister for Public Works has recommended that this
Proclamation should be issued :
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance
of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public
Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority
in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim
that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken
for the purposes of the construction of the said road. And
it is hereby declared that this Proclamation shall take effect
on and after the date of the publication thereof in the New
Zealand Gazette.

ton, and thereon coloured yellow.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right

is required to be taken, under “The Public Works
Act, 1894,” for a certain public work, to wit, the construc-
tion of roads in connection with the Waikato-Thames Rail-
way, Paeroa-Te Aroha Section :
And whereas a plan has been prepared in duplicate, show-
ing accurately the position and extent of the said land, and
the Minister for Public Works has recommended the Go-
vernor to issue a Proclamation taking the same, as required
by the said Act :
