Dissolving the General Assembly.
GLASGOW, Governor.
To the LEGISLATIVE COUNCILLORS of the COLONY of NEW ZEALAND, and the MEMBERS elected to serve in the HOUSE of REPRESENTATIVES of the said colony, and to all whom it may concern—GREETING:
A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS I have thought fit to dissolve the General Assembly of New Zealand, which stands prorogued to the nineteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six: Now know ye that I, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do for that end publish this Proclamation, and do hereby dissolve the said General Assembly accordingly; and the Legislative Councillors, and the Members elected to serve in the House of Representatives, are discharged from their meeting and attendance on the said nineteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.
