Withdrawing Land in Taranaki from Special Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that from and after the day of the date hereof the Proclamation of the eleventh day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, by His Excellency the Governor, setting apart land for special settlement, shall be and the same is hereby revoked in so far as it relates to the section of land described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District containing 11,000 acres, more or less, and being part of the Kaitangiwhenua Block, known as the Kaitangiwhenua Special Settlement. Bounded towards the west by the Moewatea Special Settlement; towards the north by the Kaitieke and Mangaotuku Blocks; towards the east by the Whakaihuwaka and Rawhitiroa Blocks; and towards the south by other part of the Kaitangiwhenua Block.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

Lands taken for Drainage-works in the Borough of Petone.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for a certain work, to wit, the construction of drainage-works in the Borough of Petone:
And whereas the Petone Borough Council has agreed with the owners, lessees, and mortgagee in terms of section twenty-six of the said Act, and has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said drainage-works.
