IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND,
OTAGO AND SOUTHLAND DISTRICT.

In the matter of "The Companies Act, 1882," and of Walter
Guthrie and Co. (Limited).

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-
up of the above named company by the Supreme
Court was, on the 15th day of October, 1896, presented to Mr.
Justice Williams, a Judge of the Supreme Court, by the Bank
of New Zealand, a creditor of the said company. And the
said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the
said Court at the Supreme Court House, Wellington, on the
30th day of October, 1896, at the hour of 10.15 o'clock in the
forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said com-
pany desirous to oppose the making of an order for the wind-
ning-up of the said company under the above Act should
appear at the time of hearing, by himself or his counsel, for
that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished
to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring
the same, by the undersigned, on payment of the regulated
charge for the same.

NOTICE is hereby given that JAMES BARNES, of Mount
Albert, has been appointed Nuisance Inspector for
the above-mentioned district, and that anybody found
depositing or receiving offensive refuse, or committing, or
to be committed, any nuisance whatsoever, within
the said district after this date, will be summarily dealt
with under the provisions of the Public Health Act.
