Small Grazing-run, Marlborough, open for Lease on Application.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Blenheim, 12th September, 1896.

NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned small grazing-run will be open for lease on application at this office on and after Wednesday, the 4th November, 1896.

In the case of more than one application on the same day, priority of selection will be decided by ballot on the following day, at 11 a.m.

Description of Land.—Broken country; moderate soil, with mixed bush on lower slopes; well watered; 50 acres felled and grassed. About thirteen miles from Blenheim, partly by main road to Picton and partly by unformed road.

Lands in Marlborough for Sale by Public Auction.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned lands will be offered for sale by auction at the Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, on Wednesday, the 4th day of November, 1896, at 11 o'clock a.m.

FOR SALE BY AUCTION.
Onamalutu Survey District.—On Langley Dale Run.

Section 14, Block XI.: 550 acres; upset price, £275; weighted with £41 10s., cost of survey, and £200, value of improvements.

Description of Land.—About 40 acres undulating country, balance broken; pastoral, good soil in valleys; well watered; 400 acres bush, remainder grass, fern, and scrub; distance, sixteen miles from Blenheim. Accessible partly by main road and partly by unformed road.

One-fifth of the purchase-money must be paid on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, with Crown-grant fee, within thirty days, or the deposit at auction will be forfeited.

PASTORAL LICENSE UNDER PART VI., "THE LAND ACT, 1892."

Run No. 49, Clifford Bay Survey District: 400 acres; annual rent, £7; term, five years. Half a year's rent and £1 1s. license-fee must be paid on the fall of the hammer.

Description of Land.—Boulder-bank at mouth of Wairau River; stony land, with patches of grass and rushes. About ten miles from Blenheim by road or river.

Possession will be given on 1st March, 1897.

The license to contain a condition providing for free ingress and egress for picnic and shooting parties.

Land in Nelson for Sale by Public Auction.

Nelson, 21st September, 1896.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned land will be offered for sale by public auction, at the Courthouse, Takaka, on Monday, the 26th October, at noon.

The above sections are situated near the Village of Takaka, distant about four miles from the Port of Waitapu, Golden Bay.

Part 2 of Section 113 is about one-half terrace land, medium soil for grass, rather strong; timber, birch and rimu, with undergrowth of supplejacks, kiekie, and scrub in gullies. Remaining half nearly flat, fair soil; timber, rimu, pungbi birch, with a little rata and pukatea, thick undergrowth of supplejacks, kiekie, and scrub.

Part 3 of Section 113, two-thirds high terrace land, rather poor on tops of terraces, medium soil for grass on slopes and in gullies; timber chiefly birch with some rimu, undergrowth of supplejacks, kiekie, and scrub. Remaining one-third nearly flat, rather wet, medium soil for grass; timber chiefly brown and pungbi birch with some rimu, thick undergrowth of supplejacks, kiekie, and scrub.

One-fifth of the purchase-money must be paid on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, together with the Crown-grant fee, within thirty days, or the deposit at auction will be forfeited.

Village-homestead Allotments, Southland, open for Lease upon Application.

Invercargill, 28th September, 1896.

THE under-mentioned Crown lands will be open for selection on lease in perpetuity at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, on Thursday, 26th November, 1896.

If more than one application be received for the same section on the same day, then the order of selection shall be decided by ballot the following day, at 11 a.m., at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill.

Fernhill Village is situated about thirty-two miles from Invercargill, on the Invercargill-Kingston Railway. The sections are bush land, near McLean's crossing; flat, and of fair quality. Limit of holding in this village, 20 acres.

Croydon Village is situated about four miles from Gore Railway-station, on the Invercargill-Dunedin line, and is undulating bush land. Water can be obtained on all the sections. Limit of holding in this village, one allotment.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

  1. The lands enumerated above are first-class lands, and are village-homestead allotments, open for selection on lease in perpetuity under the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892" (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act").

  2. The day on which the lands shall be open for selection shall be Thursday, the 26th November, 1896.

  3. The rental stated above shall be the price at which the land shall be open for selection.

  4. Applications for leases shall be made in manner as provided in Part I. of the said Act; and all such applications shall be made to the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Invercargill; and leases will be issued in accordance with the provisions of Part I. aforesaid.

  5. Each applicant shall state his or her residence, occupation, and condition in life (namely, whether married or single), and will be required to make the declaration prescribed in Schedule C to the said Act.

  6. Each applicant shall pay the first half-year's rent, together with the lease- and registration-fee, immediately the application has been approved or declared successful at the ballot.

  7. All rents must be paid half-yearly, in advance, on the 1st days of January and July in each year, as provided in
