Proroguing the General Assembly.

GLASGOW, Gоvеrnоr.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHERAS, by an Act passed in the Parliam ent holden in the fifteent h and
sixteent h years of the reig n of Her Maje st y Queen Vict oria, intituled
"An Act to grant a Representative Con stitution to the Col ony of New Zeal and,"
it is, among other things, ena cted that the Gоvеrnоr may, at his ple asure,
prorogu e the General Assembly of New Zeal and:
Now, therefore, I, David, Ear l of Glas gow, the Gоvеrnоr of the Col ony of
New Zeal and, in pursuance and exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and
authority, and of every other power and authority in this behal f enab ling me,
do hereb y proclaim and declare that I do this day prorogu e the General Assembly
of New Zeal and until Thursday, the nineteenth day of November, one thousand
eigh t hundred and n inety-six; and the said General Assembly is hereb y
prorogu ed accordin gly.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable
David, Ear l of Glas gow, Kn ight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
t ingu ish ed Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Gоvеrnоr
and Commander-in- Chief in and over Her Maje st y's Col ony of
New Zeal and and its Depend encies; and issued under the Seal
of the said Col ony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this nineteenth day of October, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and n inety-six.
