Amending the Description of the Native Township of Pipiriki.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the description contained in the Schedule to a certain Proclamation made the fifth day of August last, under the provisions of "The Native Townships Act, 1895," setting apart land for the Native Township of Pipiriki:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of all powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the parcel of Native land so set aside as the Native Township of Pipiriki, as aforesaid, are those set forth in the Schedule hereto, in lieu of those described in the said Proclamation of the fifth day of August last.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Rarete Survey District, in the Land District of Wellington, containing about 366 acres, and bounded as follows: Starting from a peg marked XV., near the Wanganui River, by a line bearing 249° 58' 15", 668·6 links, to a peg marked XXI.; thence by a line bearing 259° 40', 216·7 links, to a peg marked XX.; thence by a line bearing 263° 50', 307·1 links, to a peg marked XIX.; thence by a line bearing 236° 5', 1036·4 links, to a peg marked XVIII.; thence by a line bearing 257° 7', 297·8 links, to a peg marked XVII.; thence by a line bearing 272° 44', 1182·3 links, to a peg marked XVI.; thence by a line bearing 289° 5', 886·3 links, to a peg marked XV.; thence by a line bearing 288° 58', 555·7 links, to a peg marked XIV.; thence by a line bearing 289° 15', 676·1 links, to a peg marked XIII.; thence by a line bearing 289° 5' 3", 1689·7 links, to a peg marked XII.; thence by a line bearing 50° 17' 47", 524·1 links, to a peg marked XI.; thence by a line bearing 48° 22' 2", 1083·5 links, to a peg marked X.; thence by a line bearing 352° 40', 658·9 links, to a peg marked IX.; thence by a line bearing 308° 54', 325 links, to a peg marked VIII.; thence by a line bearing 29° 53', 1070·6 links, to a peg marked VII.; thence by a line bearing 19° 12', 1257·4 links, to a peg marked VI.; thence by a line bearing 24° 30', 244·1 links, to a peg marked V., and the production of that line until it strikes the Raukore Stream; thence by that stream to its confluence with the Wanganui River; and thence by that river to the point of commencement: as the same is more particularly shown on the plan marked 38, and deposited in the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington.

Custodians of the Securities of the Government Advances to Settlers Office.

GLASGOW, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Parliament Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of September, 1896.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section two of "The Public Securities Act, 1895," it is enacted that, with respect to such of the securities of the Government Advances to Settlers Office as for the time being are held in the colony, the custodians shall be the Controller and Auditor-General, or an Audit officer deputed by him in that behalf, and such two other persons as from time to time are appointed in that behalf by the Governor in Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said second section of the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in any wise enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby appoint the persons from time to time holding the offices or appointments of the Government Advances to Settlers Office Superintendent and the Chief Clerk of the Land- and Income-tax Office as and to be the two other custodians of the securities of the Government Advances to Settlers Office which for the time being are held in the colony, in lieu of the persons appointed by Order in Council bearing date the fourteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five.

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

GLASGOW, Governor.

WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor by the owner of the land described in the Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of such land contained in the Crown grant bearing date the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, may be removed: And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the Native Land Court, and the said Court has recommended that such restrictions be removed:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the fifty-second section of "The Native Land Court Act, 1894," and in accordance with the recommendation of the Native Land Court, doth hereby order and declare that all restrictions imposed by the said Crown grant on the alienation of the said land are hereby removed.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land, containing 100 acres, being Section No. 5, Block IV., Ruataniwha Survey District, held under Crown grant dated 1st January, 1890, in favour of Renata Kawepo, and containing the following restrictions: "Inalienable by sale, or by lease for a longer period than twenty-one years, or by mortgage, except with the consent of the Governor being previously obtained to every such sale, lease, or mortgage."

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this second day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

Trustees appointed for Tolago Bay Cemetery Extension.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of "The Cemeteries Act, 1882," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be trustees to provide for the maintenance and care of the additional portion of the Tolago Bay Cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.

Andrew Reeves, All that parcel of land in the Henry Williams, Hawke's Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 1 rood George Spence, 19 perches, more or less, being Section No. 12, Block I., Town of Buck. John M. Nelson, J. S. Lincoln, James B. Hill, and George Kilburn. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 13; towards the east by a road; towards the south by Sections Nos. 11 and 10; and towards the west by Section No. 9.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this first day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.
