Section 11: All forest, pastoral country, very rough and broken, mostly black-birch razorback ridges, from 500ft. to 1,800ft. above sea-level. Well watered. About 10acres flat land along Pokeka Stream, very much cut up by gullies. No road-acc ess at present, which will be by the Pokeka Valley Road.

Section 12: All forest, pastoral country, very rough and broken, mostly razorback black-birch ridges, from 250ft. to 1,700ft. above sea-level. Well watered. No flat land. Forma-tion is pana and sandstone, and shell - rock. The tim ber is mostly black-birch, tawa, rima, rata, and taw hero. Access by the Waitotara Valley Road, which is formed 6ft. wide.

General Description.

The Rauwhiti roa Block is a very rough one, rising from 250ft. above sea-level on the Waitotara River to 2,000ft. near Puteore Trig. The whole block is very much cut up with slips and gullies, and, when the sections are well watered. At present the only access is along the Waitotara Valley Road, which is formed as a horse - road 6ft. wide. The Waitotara River is navigable for canoes from the mouth of the Roto kohu Stream to the junc-tion of the Omaru with the Waitotara River. The general grade of the road-lines is from 1 in 20 to 1 in 40. The last mile of the Pokeka Road rises 1 in 15, which is the steepe st grade on the block. The formati on of the valley of the Pokeka is pana and sandstone, that of the Omaru Valley is pana, sandstone, and shell - rock.

No. 1 Clump.—30 old dead kauri - trees, containing about 30,000ft.; upse t price, £7 10s. 24 scorched kauri - trees, containing about 83,678ft.; upse t price, £27 18s.

No. 2 Clump.—4 old dead kauri - trees, containing about 4,320ft.; upse t price, £1 1s. 6d. 19 scorched kauri - trees, containing about 96,376ft.; upse t price, £32 2s. 6d.

No. 3 Clump.—81 old dead kauri - trees, containing about 101,793ft.; upse t price, £25 9s. 269 scorched kauri - trees, containing about 1,178,449ft.; upse t price, £392 16s.

Conditions of Sale.—One - half the purchase - money to be paid by cash or marked chequ e on the fall of the hamme r, the balance within twelv e months. Tim ber to be removed within two years from date of sale.

Run No. 35 is first - class pastoral country, and Runs Nos. 32 and 36 are second - class pastoral country.

FIR ST- AND SECON D-CLAS S PASTORAL COUNTR Y.

Run No. 32 is nearly all covered with mixed bus h, mostly tawa, matai, totara, &c. The souther n portion is easy, slopes country, and the open parts are covered with fern and tuta. The soi l on top s of hills is poor, but on the slopes is good. Access can be gain ed from the Hangar oa V illage and from Tin iroto, a pack - track coming within 20 chain s of the run from the former place, and a formed road leading to within a mile of the latter.

Run No. 35 is chiefly open land, with some mixed bus h on the norther n portion, about 600 acr es of which have been clear ed of forest and sown in English grass. Access is given by road s both from the Hangar oa and Tin iroto V illages. About 725 acr es in the souther n portion, near the hom est ead, is surface - sown in English grass, but has gone back a little, and is partiall y covered with fern and manu k a. However, as the run car ries some 1,600 shee p, 30 cattle, and 6 horse s throughout the year, during some weeks of which they are kept entirel y on the souther n portion, it is of value. The run contains a hom est ead and woolsh ed, both recentl y erect ed, store, stockyards, and shee p - di p, together with some f encing, and, on account of the improv ements effect ed, has been loaded with £2,000 to be paid by the incom ing ten ant.

Run No. 36 is hilly pastoral country, soi l light, overlying a calcareous mar l or pana formati on. It is well watered, and dist ant about twent y - three miles from Wair oa, on the sea - coast. It is chiefly covered with fern and scr u b, with some patch es of mixed bus h.
