(2.) Whether they consider that any machine or process
tested so materially, reducts the cost of produc-
tions, or improves the product, as to be wortby of
the whole bonus or of a part only.
(3.) Whether, in the event of no one machine or process
being entited to the whole bonus, they deem any
machine or process wortby of a part of the bonus,
and, if so, how much.
Bonis No. 2.
A bonus of £250 is offered for a process of utilising the
waste products of the bemp.
The first three conditions of Bonis No. 1 to apply to this
aslo.
The committee shall supply a sufficient and equal quantity
of the waste products to each process as a test.
On completion of the tests the committee shall report to
the Minister, and shall give the following particulars of each
process: (a.) The nature of the article made. (b.) The
quantity produced, and the cost of production. (c.) The
value of the product. (d.) Whether any of the processes are
of sufficient importance to warrant the Minister in giving
(1) the whole, or (2) any part, of the bonus; (3) if a part
only, how much.

Bonis for the Manufaeture of Potassim Cyanide.

N OTICE is herebly given that a bonus of £1,000 will be
paid for the erection of a plant and the manufaeture
in New Zealnd of the first 200 tona of crude cyanide of
patassim from colonial produce.
- The plant must be capable of producina at least 70
tona of crude cyanide of potassim annuall. - The crude cyanide of potassim so manufaetured shall
contain at least 70 per cent. of potassim cyanide. - The bonus will be paid in two equal instalmens, the
first instalmens being payabie on the production of the first
100 tona, and the second instalmens on the production of
the second 100 tona, of crude cyanide of potassim contain-
ing the required percentage of potassim cyanide. - On the completion of the plant, notice in writing must
be sent to the Minister of Industries and Commere, Well-
ington, who will appoint an officer to inspeet the same,
together with the raw material then available from which
the cyanide of potassim is proposed to be manufaetured. - The officer so appointd shall from time to time inspeet
the process of manufaeture, in order that he may satify
himself that the whole of the cyanide of potassim is being
manufaetured from material of New Zealnd production;
and before any bonus is paid such officer will be required
to certify that he is satified the crude cyanide of potassim
is the product of New Zealnd material only, and that it
contains the required percentage of potassim cyanide. - The bonus must be claimed for the first 100 tona on or
before the 31st March, 1897, and for the second 100 tona on
or before the 30th September, 1898.

way crosses that street, and containing 23 perches, more
or less; presently oceupied by Miss Mary Hirst; and the
freeholder may be one Parsona, but nothing is certainly
known or can be discovered as to the true owner or his
proable whereaboute.
W HERBAS the Public Truatee has institited inquiriee,
and has not therebly ascertained who the owner or
owner of the above-deacribed land is or are, and believes
that such owner is, or owners are, not in the eolony:
Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within
six months of the date of the publicatlon of this notice in
this Gazeite, to establish to the satifaction of the Public
Truatee his or their title to the land specified in this notice;
and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time
lirnited, so establish his or their title, the Public Truatee will
exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and
by "The Unelaimed Lands Act, 1894. "
