THE following notices of elections of members of Road Boards have been received at this office, and are published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

Notice by the Public Trustee under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”
To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing 57 acres 3 roods 11 perches, more or less, being northern portion of Section No. 73, Block XII., Tangihua Survey District, and also of a parcel of land, containing 56 acres, more or less, being northern portion of Section No. 75 in the aforesaid block and district. An unregistered grant containing both parcels is lying in the Land Registry Office, Auckland, in the name of H. A. Drake, of whom nothing is known.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony:
Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”

Notice under “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894.”
WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have, for the purposes of “The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894,” made due inquiries with respect to the land described in the Schedule hereunder written and the owner thereof, and have, in respect of the said land, given the notices prescribed by section 4 of the said Act, and have in all respects complied with the provisions of the said section: And whereas I have not thereby ascertained who the owner is, and believe that such owner is not in the colony; nor has such owner established his title to the said land, as required by the said Act: I hereby give notice that the said land is, under and by virtue of the said Act, vested in me, as the Public Trustee as aforesaid, as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the said Act. The ascertained value of the land is less than £100.
Dated at Wellington, this 22nd day of July, 1896.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land, containing 51 acres, more or less, being Section No. 99, Claverton Run, District of Pelorus Sound. Bounded on the north by Crown land, 3300 links; on the west by Crown land, 1688 links; on the south by Crown land, 2750 links; and on the east by a road-line dividing the said land from Hikapu Reach, Pelorus Sound: be the aforesaid measurements a little more or less.

IN pursuance of regulations under “The Civil Service Reform Act, 1886,” notice is hereby given that for the Senior Examination of January, 1897, the period of literature will be the reign of Elizabeth, and the special books will be George Eliot’s “Romolo” and Shakespeare’s “Tempest.”
