and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that from and after the thirty-first day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, the boundaries of the said districts as at present constituted shall cease to be the boundaries of the said districts, and that the boundaries of the said districts shall be those which are specified in the Schedule hereto; and also that the Road Boards of the said districts shall be dissolved upon the said thirty-first day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six; and that the Road Board of each of the said districts, as altered by this Order in Council, shall consist of five members; and, further, that the first election of members of the new Boards shall be conducted in accordance with “The Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876”: and doth, by and with the advice aforesaid, further appoint John Nicholas to be the Clerk and the Returning Officer to conduct the first elections of the Road Board of the Paparoa Road District: and doth appoint Saturday, the fifth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, to be the day for holding such first elections; and that the first meeting of the new Board of the said Paparoa Road District shall be held at the Howick School on Monday, the seventh day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, at seven o’clock in the evening: and doth, by and with the advice aforesaid, further appoint Augustus Joseph Shackell to be the Clerk and the Returning Officer to conduct the first elections of the Road Board of the East Tamaki Road District; and that Wednesday, the second day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, be the day for holding such elections; and that the first meeting of the new Board of the said East Tamaki Road District shall be held at the East Tamaki Road Board Office, at East Tamaki, on Monday, the seventh day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, at two o’clock in the afternoon.

SCHEDULE.

EAST TAMAKI ROAD DISTRICT.—AMENDED BOUNDARIES.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north generally by Sections Nos. 94, 96, and 116, Pakuranga Parish, from Pakuranga Creek to the road forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 98: thence towards the east by that road and its continuation to the north-western corner of Section No. 217: thence again towards the north by the road forming the northern boundary of the last-mentioned section and of Sections Nos. 270 and 271; thence by the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 271 aforesaid and by the road forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 273 and 275 to the north-western corner of Section No. 118; thence by the northern boundary-line of that section to its north-eastern corner: thence again towards the east generally by the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 118 aforesaid, by Section No. 131, the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 139, the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 176, the south-eastern and south-western boundary-lines of Section No. 175, and the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 137, all of the Parish of Pakuranga aforesaid; thence by the north-eastern, the south-eastern, and the south-western boundary-lines of Section No. 91, Parish of Manurewa, and the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 94 of the Parish of Manurewa aforesaid, to its south-eastern corner at the north-eastern boundary-line of the Parish of Papakura: thence towards the south-west and south-east by the said Parish of Papakura to the southernmost corner of Section No. 40, Parish of Manurewa aforesaid: thence again towards the south-west by a line along the middle of the Great South Road to the Tamaki River: and thence towards the west and north-west by that river and Pakuranga Creek aforesaid to the place of commencement.

PAPAROA ROAD DISTRICT.—EXTENDED BOUNDARIES.

All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north-east by the Hauraki Gulf: thence towards the south-east generally by the Maungamaungaroa Creek to a point in line with the northern boundary-line of Section No. 80, Pakuranga Parish; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 80 aforesaid; and thence by the road which forms the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 80 and 116: towards the south by the East Tamaki Road District, hereinbefore described: and towards the west generally by the Pakuranga Creek and the Pakuranga Road District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 42, 18th May, 1883: excepting from the above-described area the Howick Township Road District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 42, 18th May, 1883.

Prohibiting the Introduction of Queensland Cattle, Horses, Sheep, Fresh Meat, Skins, Hides, Hair, Bones, &c.—Notice No. 447.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of July, 1896.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council bearing date of the twentieth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, certain regulations were made (inter alia) for regulating the introduction of cattle, sheep, hides, bones, et cetera, from certain of the Australian Colonies to New Zealand:

And whereas it is now expedient to make further regulations respecting the introduction to New Zealand from Queensland of cattle, horses, sheep, hides, skins, hair, bones, hoofs, offal, or other parts of such stock:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Stock Act, 1893” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby absolutely prohibit the introduction from Queensland to New Zealand of cattle, horses, sheep, and also of fresh meat (with the exception of frozen meat), skins, hides, hair, bones, horns, hoofs, offal, or other parts of any such animal; and of all hay, straw, and fodder, and of all fittings which have been used in the transport of any such stock or things, and doth hereby revoke the said recited Order in Council of the twentieth day of April last in so far as may be necessary to give effect to the prohibition hereby ordered or intended so to be.

And it is hereby declared that this Order in Council shall come into force upon the gazetting thereof.

Fixing Dues for Waitapu Wharf.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of July, 1896.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is provided by the fourth section of “The Harbours Act Amendment Act, 1879,” that the power granted to the Governor in Council by the seventeenth section of “The Harbours Act, 1878,” in respect of prescribing what dues and rates may be charged on wharves vested in local bodies may be exercised from time to time as occasion may require, and shall not be limited, as in the said section is provided:

And whereas the management of the wharf at Waitapu was, by Order in Council dated the fourth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, vested in the Takaka Road Board, and dues were prescribed for its use:

And whereas it is desirable to revoke such dues, and prescribe others in lieu thereof:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by “The Harbours Act, 1878,” “The Harbours Act Amendment Act, 1879,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby revoke the dues and rates for the use of the said wharf which were fixed by the said Order in Council of the fourth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, and doth hereby prescribe that the dues and rates set forth in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be taken for the use of the said wharf, and for the storage of goods in any warehouse or building attached to such wharf.
