✨ Patent Amendments and Notices
May 28.] THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE. 865
The nature of the proposed amendment is as follows, viz.:-
(1.) To insert immediately after the word "screw," line 2, page 2, the words, &c., "or spring E²."
(2.) To insert immediately after the letter "E," line 4, page 2, the words, &c., "and E² with corresponding guides."
(3.) To insert the following paragraph immediately after the one terminating in the words "any article to be used on it," line 9, page 4, viz.:-
"An alternative construction of the table is shown in diagram 'Q,' in which the table-top is in two halves or parts, held together by a coupling 'R' at 'U' or screw-rod 'S,' supports 'T' being connected with the telescopic rod or bar by joint and fastening screw. Screw-rod 'S' is on a pivot on one support, so that it may fold along it when required."
(4.) To insert at the end of the present description, page 6, the following paragraph, viz:-
"When table shown in diagram 'Q' is required to be withdrawn for use, it is drawn out through the bracket 'O,' and supports raised, and rods 'T' also raised to the requisite height to enable the two portions of the table-top to be fitted together at 'U' and fastened there by coupling 'R' or screw-rod 'S.'"
(5.) To insert in the claim immediately after the letter "F," line 8, page 7, the words, &c., "or rods 'T' with telescopic rod and tube 'H' and 'F.'"
(6.) To add four figures to the drawings.
The applicants state: "Our reason for such amendment is to provide for the construction of the table in the alternative mode, and to insure further protection for our said invention."
No. 8453.-30th April, 1896.-JOHN SENIOR WOODHOUSE, of Papanui, Christchurch, New Zealand, Gentleman. An invention for improvements in cycle-wheels.
The nature of the proposed amendment is as follows, viz.:-
(1.) To insert immediately after the word "material," last line, page 1, the words "preferably flattened steel wire or a strip of thin sheet-steel."
(2.) To insert after the word "affixed," line 11, page 2, the following words, viz.: "This outer jacket need not be a tube entirely surrounding the spiral coil, but may be only partially extended from the outer periphery towards the inside, and may be either in immediate contact with the spiral coil, or having interposed between the two surfaces a lining of suitable material-such as linen ticking, navy canvas, leather, or parchment-protecting the outside covering from the friction or working of the spiral coil against it. The circle or tire so formed is placed around and upon the ordinary rim or frame of the wheel in a similar manner to that of the pneumatic tire."
(3.) To insert in the claim immediately after the word "material," line 7, page 3, the words "preferably flattened steel wire or a strip of thin sheet-steel."
(4.) To insert in the claim immediately after the words "indiarubber," line 9, page 3, the words "either in immediate contact with the spiral coil or having interposed between the two surfaces a lining of suitable material."
The applicant states: "My reasons for making this amendment are as follows: That I deem it advisable to more fully and clearly describe the invention and claim."
