RESULT OF POLL FOR PROPOSED LOAN, MAURICEVILLE ROAD BOARD.

THE following is the result of a poll taken on the 14th March, 1896, on a proposal to borrow £200, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of forming the Mangaoronga Road, from the junction with Mangamahoe Road to the north-west boundary of Section 77, Block XIV., Mangaone.

Number of ratepayers on special roll, 2, representing 2 votes: 2 ratepayers recorded 2 votes in favour of the proposal.

As a majority of ratepayers recorded more than one-half of the votes that can be exercised, I hereby declare the proposal carried.

THE following special order, made by the Mauriceville Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER MADE BY THE MAURICEVILLE ROAD BOARD, COUNTY OF WAIRARAPA NORTH.

THAT, to meet the interest and annual charges on a loan of £600, raised under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and its amendments, to form, erect bridges where required, and partly metal Bowen Road, a special rate of 3¹⁄₂d. in the pound be made and levied on the rateable value for the time being of the properties, exclusive of such Crown lands as are by law exempt, contained within the following boundaries: Commencing at the north-west corner of Section 24 of the Hastwell Village Settlement; from thence follow line, excluding Sections 23, 22, 21, 20, 17, and 62, follow west boundary of Section 63 to railway-line, cross Railway Reserve, and follow boundary between it and Sections 139 and 140 to north-west corner of Section 140; thence follow north boundary of Section 140, follow road to Section 68, follow north boundary of Section 68, east boundary of Sections 68 and 67; thence by line, excluding Sections 72, 123, and also Section 29 of Hastwell Village Settlement, to the main road, follow main road to the point of commencement: all in Block XIV., Mangaone Survey District. Such rate shall be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years, and shall be payable in two half-yearly instalments, on the 2nd of January and 2nd of July in each year.

I hereby certify that the foregoing special order has been made and confirmed by the Mauriceville Road Board in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

Notice of Intention to take Land for a Road through Matakohe Parish.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road through Block XIV., Matakohe Parish and Survey District, and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is further given that the plans of the said road and of the lands so required to be taken are deposited in the post-office at Matakohe, and are there open for inspection. And notice is hereby given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister for Public Works, Wellington.
