Shooting Season for Imported and Native Game, License-fee, &c., Wellington District.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock pheasants and Californian quail may be taken or killed within the Wellington Acclimatisation District, consisting of the Counties of Hutt, Wairarapa North, Wairarapa South, Pahiatua, Horowhenua, Kiwitea, Oroua, Pohangina, and Manawatu, together with all town districts and boroughs therein, and that hares may be taken or killed within the said district, excepting therefrom the County of Pahiatua, from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, both inclusive (subject, nevertheless, to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell game and native game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Wellington, and the Postmasters at Palmerston North, Feilding, Sandon, Ashurst, Woodville, Pahiatua, Eketahuna, Masterton, Carterton, Greytown, Martinborough, Featherston, Upper Hutt, Lower Hutt, Foxton, and Otaki are hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses.

And I do further declare that native game, excepting native pigeon, tui, huia, white heron, and crested grebe, may be taken or killed within the above-mentioned district from the fourth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, both days inclusive.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this nineteenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock pheasants and Californian and Australian quail may be taken or killed within the Auckland District, consisting of the Counties of Hobson, Whangarei, Otamatea, Rodney, Waitemata, Eden, Manukau, Coromandel, Thames, Ohinemuri, Raglan, Waikato, Waipa, Piako, Rotorua, Kawhia, and Taupo West, excepting the islands known as the Little Barrier and the Hen and Chickens, and that portion of the Lake Road District, County of Waitemata, bounded on the north by the Wairau Creek from its mouth to the main road from Devonport to Waiwera, on the west by the said road to its junction with the Seaview Road, on the south by that road to the sea, and on the east by the sea to the point of departure, from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, both inclusive (subject, nevertheless, to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell game and native game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmasters at Auckland and Thames, and the Postmasters at Cambridge, Dargaville, Mercer, Papakura, Pukekohe, and Whangarei, are hereby appointed to sign and issue the said licenses.

And I do further declare that native game, excepting tui, native pigeon, huia, white heron, and crested grebe, may be taken or killed within the above-mentioned district, except in the portions thereof hereinbefore described, from the fourth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, both days inclusive.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this nineteenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

Notice of Election of Chairman and Members of the Board of Conciliation for Otago and Southland Industrial District.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1894,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that

GRANT PRESTON FARQUHAR, of Dunedin, Merchant;
GEORGE L. SISE, of Dunedin, Merchant;
JOHN ANDREW MILLAR, of Roslyn, Accountant; and
ROBERT FERGUSON, of Dunedin, Bootmaker,

have been duly elected as members, and

WILLIAM ALEXANDER SIM, of Dunedin, Solicitor,

has been duly elected as Chairman, of the Board of Conciliation in and for the Otago and Southland Industrial District.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-third day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

Rural Lands in the Southland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twentieth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any lands containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”
