Proclaiming a Road as closed through Lands in Puketoi
Survey District, North Wairarapa County.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by
section thirteen of "The Land Act, 1892," I, David,
Earl of Glasgow, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do by this notice hereby proclaim as closed the road in
the North Wairarapa County hereinafter described, that is
to say:—

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan
marked as above mentioned, deposited in the Head Office of
the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the
Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured as above
mentioned.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies;
and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at
the Government House, at Wellington, this
first day of January, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.

Taking the Ardgowan Estate under "The Land for Settle-
ments Act, 1894."

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a notice published in the New Zealand
Gazette of the fourteenth day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-five, it was therein stated that it
was the intention of the Governor to take compulsorily
under the powers in that behalf conferred by "The Land
for Settlements Act, 1894," the land mentioned in such
notice:
And whereas in pursuance of such notice a claim to com-
pensation was made by the owners of such land, and the
claim has been determined by the Compensation Court in
the manner provided by the said Act:
And whereas, in pursuance of the said Act, an order was
made by the Compensation Court, on the tenth day of Sep-
tember, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, declaring
the amount of compensation and costs to be paid in respect
of the taking of such land; and a supplementary order was
made by the said Court, on the twenty-sixth day of November,
one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, declaring that
the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are the lands
which the Minister of Lands is entitled to take:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise
of the power and authority conferred upon me by the said
Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise en-
abling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that
the land set forth in the supplementary order aforesaid, and
described or mentioned in the Schedule hereto, is compul-
sorily taken under the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
All those parcels of land in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing together by admeasurement 4,241 acres, more or
less, situated in Blocks I. and II. of the Oamaru Survey
District, and being sections and parts of sections as follows—
namely, parts of sections numbered 59, 1 of 60, 62, and 63,
section numbered 64, parts of sections numbered 65, 67,
68, 70, 71, and section numbered 72, all of Block I., Oamaru
Survey District; parts of sections numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, sec-
tions numbered 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, parts of sections numbered
11 and 18, sections numbered 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27,
part of section numbered 28, sections numbered 29, 1 of 30,
31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, parts of sections numbered 39,
40, 43, 44, sections numbered 1 of 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51,
52, parts of sections numbered 53, 59, 1 of 60, 61, 62, 63, 64,
65, 66, 1 of 67, and 459r, all of Block II., Oamaru Survey
District aforesaid: as the said parcels of land are more par-
ticularly described on a plan thereof deposited in the Land
Transfer Office at Dunedin, in the Otago Land District, as
No. 1199, and thereon coloured green.
