Notice by the Public Trus tee under "The Unclai med Lands Act, 1894."
To the owner or owners of a par c el of land, containing 51
acres, more or less, being Section 99, Claverton Run, Dis -
trict of P elor us Sound. Bounded on the north by Cr own
land, 3300 links; on the west by Cr own land, 1688 links;
on the south by Cr own land, 2750 links; and on the east
by a r oad-line dividing the said land fr om Hikapu Reach,
P elor us Sound: be the aforesaid measur ements a little
more or less. The last known owner is John Atkin, of
N elson, watchm aker, who it is believed went to Austr alia
about tw enty-five years ago, and cannot be traced.
WHEREAS the Public Trus tee has inst ituted inquir ies,
and has not ther eby ascertained who the owner or
own ers of the above-described land is or are, and believes
that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colon y.
Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within
six months of the date of the publica tio n of this notice in
this Gazette, to establish to the satisf action of the Public
Trus tee his or their title to the land specified in this notice,
and if such owner does or owners do not, within the time
lim ited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trus tee will
ex er cise the powers and authorities granted to him in and
by "The Unclai med Lands Act, 1894. "

IN pursuance and ex er cise of all the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by "The West Coast Sett lement
Reserves Act, 1892, " and the amendments ther e of, and par -
ticult arly by section 10 of "The N ative Reserves Act A m end -
ment Act, 1895, " I, James K emmis W arb urton, the Public
Trus tee of the Col ony of New Zeal and, do her eby make the
f ollow ing r egulation:—
In all leas es to be her eafter issued under "The West
Coast Sett lement Reserves Act, 1892, " the forms of leas es
as pr es cr iber d by the r egulations made ther eunder shall be
modif ied as follows, that is to say: The covenant that "The
lessee will insur e in the name of the lessor " shall be omitted,
and in lieu ther e of the following covenant shall be ins er t ed :
"The lessee will insur e within the implied meaning of those
w ords in the Fourth S chedule to 'The Land Transf er Act,
1885. ' "
