Changing the Name of Hawera (Forty-mile Bush)..

A P R O C L A M A T I O N.
WHEREAS there are now existing two places in the
Colony of New Zealanc being the same name,
that is to say, the Borough of Hawera in the County of
Hawera, and the Settiement of Hawera in the Wairarap
a North County, the last-named being the more recent in date
of existence: And wherens, under the fourth section of
"The Designation of Districts Act, 1894," I larely required
the County Council of the Wairarap North County, being
the local authority having jurisciction in that beball, to sub--
mit a new name for such settiement for my approval as
mentioned in the said section: And wherens the said
Council hath acccordingly submitted to me the name of
"Hamua" in lieu of the existing name of "Hawera":
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred on me by sections two and four of
"The Designation of Districts Act, 1894," and of all other
owers and authorities enabing me in this beball, I, David,
Eari of Giasgow, the Governo of the Colony of New Zea--
land, do hercby proclaim and declare that the name of the
Settiement of Hawera in the Wairarap North County shall
be and the same is hercby altcred to "Hamua," and do
assign the last-mentioned name to such settiement accord--
ingly, and also do hereb proclamation and declare that this
Proclamation shall take effect on and after the sith day
of April, one thousand eight hundred and nisety-six.
Givcn under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honorourable David, Ear of Giasgow; Kaight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguisbed Order of
Saint Michael and St. George; Governo and
Commander-in-Chef in and over Her Majeity's
Colony of New Zealanc and its Dependencics;
and issued under the Seal of the said Colory, at
the Government House, at Wellington, this
second day of October, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and nisety-five.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the sith section of "The Ceme--
teries Act, 1882," I, David, Ear of Giasgow, the Governo
of the Colony of New Zealanc, do hercby appoint the several
person whose names are specified in the first column of the
Schedale hereto to be Trutees to provide for the mainten--
ance and care of the public cemetery specified in the second
column of the said Schedale.
