Appointing Day for closing under “The Shops and Shop-assistants Act, 1894.”

GLASGOW, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventeenth day of February, 1896.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the local authority of the Borough of Palmerston, being duly authorised by “The Shops and Shop-assistants Act, 1894,” to appoint by special resolution, in the month of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six, the day on which shops in the said borough are to be closed in accordance with the said Act, has failed so to appoint a day:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by section ten of the said Act, do hereby appoint Wednesday to be the day on which shops shall be closed in the said Borough of Palmerston, in accordance with the said Act.

Notifying Lands in Nelson for Sale by Public Auction.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the dates hereunder given as those upon which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction, and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto opposite the description of such lands respectively.
