- The remaining suburbs do not lie within borough boundaries, and particulars respecting them have not been obtained for the Vital Statistics.
Deaths occurring at hospitals have been omitted, except where deceased had previously resided in one or other of the above boroughs, in which case the death is counted against the borough of residence.
The total births in the above boroughs amounted to 325, against 391 in October, a decrease of 66. The deaths in November were 126, a decrease of 33 on the number in October. Of the total deaths, males contributed 66, females 60. Thirty-five of the deaths were of children under 5 years of age, being 26Β·98 per cent. of the whole number; 20 of these were under 1 year of age. There were 23 deaths of persons of 65 years and upwards: Five men of 69 (two), 72, 74, 92, and one woman of 68, died at Auckland; two men of 70 and 81, and two women of 81 and 94, at Wellington; three men of 65, 68, 70, and two women of 79 and 82, at Christchurch; five men of 66, 67, 68, 69, 72, and three women of 65, 66, 78, at Dunedin.
The following Table shows the Causes of the Deaths of Persons of both Sexes under 5 Years of Age and 5 Years and upwards, and the Proportions per Cent. of Deaths from each Cause, in the Boroughs above given registered during the Month of November, 1895.
