Land withdrawn from State Forests.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto are State forests under the control of the Commissioner of State Forests appointed under "The New Zealand State Forests Act, 1885" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), and the said lands are now no longer required for State-forest purposes: And whereas plans showing the extent and position of the said lands, and a statement of the reasons why they are no longer required for State-forest purposes, have been laid before both Houses of Parliament for a period of thirty days, and no resolution has been passed by either of such Houses objecting to the issue of this Proclamation:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred by "The New Zealand State Forests Act Amendment Act, 1888," and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby revoke the Warrant and Proclamation specified in the second column of the Schedule hereto, so far as they relate to the land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto, as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette; and doth hereby proclaim and declare that from and after such date the several parcels of land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be no longer subject to the provisions of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

First Column.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.

All that parcel of land in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 50 acres, more or less, being Section No. 1, Block II., Heringa Survey District. Bounded on the north, 1306·5 links, by a State forest; on the east, 1521·7 links, 240·5 links, 911·8 links, and 567·9 links respectively, by a public road; on the south, 3712·9 links, by a State forest; on the west, 2108·5 links, by a State forest: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Blenheim.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.

All that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 10 acres 1 rood 14 perches, more or less, being Section No. 846, Hokonui Survey District. Bounded on the north-east by Section No. 20, 2286·3 links; on the south-east by Crown lands, 1022 links; and on the south-west generally by Section No. 13 and road-line, 543 links, 152 links, 1432·8 links, and 9·3 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Invercargill.

Also all that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing 1,550 acres, more or less, being part of Invercargill and Campbeltown Hundred. Bounded towards the north generally by the Motu Rimu Improved Settlement Farms, Sections Nos. 42 and 41, Block XXII., Invercargill Hundred, Section No. 21, Block XXIII., Invercargill Hundred, and by Saw-mill Areas Nos. 163 and 160; towards the east generally by Saw-mill Areas Nos. 163, 160, 138, and part of Nos. 139 and 329; towards the south generally by Saw-mill Areas Nos. 160 and 139, and by the edge of the bush; and towards the south-west and west by Sections Nos. 19, 18, 17, and 16, Block II., Campbeltown Hundred, and by Motu Rimu Farms.

Also all that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing 240 acres, more or less, being part of Invercargill Hundred. Bounded towards the west by Section No. 67, Block XXIII., Invercargill Hundred; towards the north by Saw-mill Areas Nos. 129 and 154; towards the north-east by Saw-mill Area No. 132; and towards the south by a road-line along the Seaward Bush Railway-line.

Also all that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing 340 acres, more or less, being part of Invercargill Hundred. Bounded towards the south by Saw-mill Area No. 129; towards the east generally by Saw-mill Areas Nos. 173, 216, 162, and 176; towards the north generally by Saw-mill Areas Nos. 176, 254, 272, and 252; and towards the west generally by Saw-mill Areas Nos. 272, 252, 213, and 202.

Also all that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing 410 acres, more or less, being part of Invercargill Hundred. Bounded towards the east by a road-line and by Saw-mill Area No. 215; towards the south by Saw-mill Areas Nos. 248, 272, and a road-line; towards the west by Section No. 1, Block XXII., Invercargill Hundred; and towards the north by a road-line.

Also all that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing 530 acres, more or less, being part of Invercargill Hundred. Bounded towards the north generally by a road-line; towards the east generally by Saw-mill Area No. 255, by east boundary of Saw-mill Area No. 223, and by land reserved for use of the New Zealand Pine Company; towards the south generally by land reserved for use of the New Zealand Pine Company, and by Saw-mill Areas Nos. 255 and 162; and towards the west generally by Saw-mill Areas Nos. 176 and 169.

Also all that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,900 acres, more or less, situated in Waiau Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 8; towards the north-east by Section No. 7; towards the south-east by Section No. 83 and the Orawia River; and towards the west generally by the Waiau River.

Second Column.

Warrant dated the 7th September, 1886, and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 47, of the 9th September, 1886.

Proclamation dated the 24th February, 1886, and published in New Zealand Gazette, No. 11, of the 4th March, 1886.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five.
