I, John Thomas, of 57, Colombo Street, Christchurch, 1885, Licentiate of Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh, 1885, Licentiate of Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, 1885, registered on Imperial Register, hereby give notice that I have, this 30th November, 1895, deposited evidence of my qualifications with the Registrar of the Christchurch District, and that I shall apply to be registered under the New Zealand Medical Act on the 30th December, 1895.

NEWCASTLE ROAD BOARD.
TAKING LAND UNDER "THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1894."
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that it is the intention of the Newcastle Road Board to take a portion of Section 53, Parish of Horotiu, in the Newcastle Survey District, for landing and road reserve purposes.
The portion of land to be taken commences on the western side of the Whakapuku Pa, and thence by the northern boundary of a road-line going westerly to a point where the road turns south; thence to the Waipa River, and by the river eastwards to the western side of the before-mentioned pa, and thence to the point of commencement.
The above-described piece contains 1 acre 3 roods 30 perches (more or less).
All objections to the taking of the above piece of land must be lodged in writing and addressed to the undersigned within forty days from date hereof.

APPLICATION having been made to me, under section 28 of "The Life Assurance Policies Act, 1884," for the issue of a copy of the policy on the life of Edward James Ussher, of Martinborough, formerly of Carterton, numbered 58373 in the books of the Government Insurance Commissioner, and evidence having been supplied as to the loss of the original, I hereby give notice that I shall issue a copy as requested unless notice be lodged forbidding the same on or before the 5th day of January, 1896.

In the matter of "The Companies Act, 1882"; and in the matter of the Sun Newspaper Printing Company (Limited), a company incorporated under the provisions of the above Act, having its registered office situated in Christchurch, in the above-named district.
NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was, on the 3rd day of December, 1895, presented to Mr. Justice Denniston, a Judge of the Supreme Court, by David Stranaghan, of Christchurch, financial agent, a creditor of the said company; and the said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court on the 17th day of December, 1895; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing, by himself or his counsel, for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto subsisting between us, the undersigned Charles Franklin Todhunter, Charles Henry Dowding, and Benjamin Edward Todhunter, as Stock-owners and Farmers, carried on by us at Westerfield, in the County of Ashburton, under the style or firm of "Todhunter and Dowding," has been dissolved so far as regards the said Charles Henry Dowding, who retires from the firm as from the 6th day of July, 1895. The business will in future be carried on by the said Charles Franklin Todhunter and Benjamin Edward Todhunter, under the style or firm of "C. F. and B. E. Todhunter."

I, Walter Hislop, Manager of the Perpetual Trustees Estate and Agency Company of New Zealand (Limited) do solemnly and sincerely declare,—
- That the liability of members is limited.
- That the capital of the company is £106,250, divided into 25,000 shares of £4 5s.
- That the number of shares issued is 21,669.
- That calls to the amount of 7s. 6d. per share have been made, under which the sum of £8,125 17s. 6d. has been received.
- That the amount of all moneys received on account of estates under administration during the half-year ending the 31st day of October, 1895, is £3,908 7s. 6d.
- That the amount of all moneys paid on account of estates under administration during the half-year ending the 31st day of October, 1895, is £1,100 4s. 6d.
- That the amount of the balance held to the credit of estates under administration during the half-year ending the 31st day of October, 1895, is £3,944 18s. 1d.
- That the liabilities of the company on the 1st day of November last were: Debts owing to sundry persons by the company—viz., on judgment, nil; on specialty, nil; on notes or bills, nil; on simple contracts, £8,825 16s. 5d.; on estimated liabilities, nil.
- That the assets of the company on that date were: Government securities, nil; bills of exchange and promissory notes, £167 10s. 7d.; other securities, £14,235 15s. 2d.; cash at banker's and on deposit, £1,875 15s. 6d.
And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled "The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882."
