SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 40
acres, be the same a little more or less, being the eastern
part of Allotment 96, in the Parish of Awhitu, in the Pro-
vincial District of Auckland. Bounded on the north and
north-east by a road, 1190, 114, and 1881 links; on the south-
east by a road, 533, 265, 297, 497, and 880 links; and on the
west by the other part of Allotment 96, 3416 links.

Notice by the Public Trustee under "The Unclaimed Lands
Act, 1894."

To the owner or owners of a parcel of land, containing
by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 8 perches, more or less,
being Allotments 2 and 3 of Suburban Section 295, Town-
ship of Palmerston North, having a frontage to Oakley
Street of 400 links, by a depth of 450 links; of which the
grantee was Carl Peters, of Palmerston North, Settler,
whose whereabouts cannot be traced.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries,
and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or
owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes
that such owner is, or owners are, not in the colony :
Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within
six months of the date of the publication of this notice in
this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public
Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice ;
and if such owner does or owners do not, within the time
limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will
exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by
" The Unclaimed Lands Act, 1894."

Certificate in Pursuance of "The Bank of New Zealand and
Banking Act, 1895."

In the matter of "The Bank of New Zealand and Banking
Act, 1895," and "The Bank of New Zealand and Banking
Act Amendment Act, 1895."
Certificate in pursuance of "The Bank of New Zealand and
Banking Act, 1895."
WHEREAS the contract for sale and purchase men-
tioned or referred to in the preamble to "The Bank
of New Zealand and Banking Act Amendment Act, 1895,"
being a contract dated the 18th day of October, 1895, and
made between the Colonial Bank of New Zealand, as the
selling bank, of the one part, and the Bank of New Zealand,
as the purchasing bank, of the other part, for the sale to
and purchase by the Bank of New Zealand of the business
and certain of the assets of the Colonial Bank of New Zea-
land, was, on the 8th day of November, 1895, duly ratified
by resolution passed by the proprietors or shareholders of
the Colonial Bank of New Zealand, in the manner provided
by "The Bank of New Zealand and Banking Act, 1895" :
And whereas the time or date appointed by the said con-
tract for sale and purchase for the transfer of the business
of the selling bank was the second Monday after the ratifi-
cation of the said contract : And whereas, by section 43 of
"The Bank of New Zealand and Banking Act, 1895," it is
provided that a certificate in writing, purporting to be made
in pursuance of that Act, and under the hands of three Di-
rectors of the Bank of New Zealand and of three Di-
rectors, or of the Liquidator or Liquidators, of the selling
bank, certifying what is or was the date appointed for the
transfer of the business, shall be conclusive evidence thereof :
Now, we, the undersigned George McLean, Percival Clay
Neill, and William Hunter Reynolds, three Directors of the
Colonial Bank of New Zealand, and we, the undersigned
Martin Kennedy, Thomas George Macarthy, and William
Booth, three Directors of the Bank of New Zealand, do
hereby respectively certify, in terms of said section 43 of
"The Bank of New Zealand and Banking Act, 1895," that
Monday, the 18th day of November, 1895, was the date
appointed for the transfer of the business of the Colonial
Bank of New Zealand to the Bank of New Zealand.
Given under our hands, this twenty-seventh day of
November, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-five.

Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares and Charges
in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.

In accordance with " The Government Railways Act, 1894,"
I, John McKenzie, acting for the Minister for Railways,
do hereby make the following alterations in and additions to
the scale of fares, rates, and charges on the New Zealand
Government railways, to come into force on and after the
9th day of December, 1895 :—

PART III.—GOODS: REGULATIONS.

(7.) Class K.—Timber.
Sawn Timber, Squared Logs, and Mouldings.
The clause stating that 100 palings, or 1,000 shingles, will
be charged as 100ft. timber is hereby cancelled.

(8.) Class M.—Live-stock.
Cattle, Calves, Sheep, Goats, and Pigs in Small Lots.
The department reserves the right to supply single-floored
trucks for the conveyance of sheep, &c., when double-floored
trucks are not available, and in such cases the District
Manager may arrange to charge one single-floored double
bogie truck or two single-floored trucks as one double-floored
truck.

(27.) Private Stores and Sidings.
The clause stating that no consignment of less than 2
tons will be delivered at or received from private stores or
sidings is hereby cancelled.
No consignment of less than 1 ton 10cwt. will be delivered
at or received from private stores or sidings.

PART IV.—GOODS: LOCAL RATES.
NAPIER—TARANAKI SECTION.
Coal between Wanganui and Aramoho Junction will be
charged as Class Q.

WESTPORT SECTION.
Log timber consigned from stations on the Waimangaroa
Branch to Griffiths will be charged 8d. per 100 superficial
feet on the Government railway in addition to the branch-
line charge.
Coals and coal-dross consigned from Conn's Creek to Wel-
ington Mine will be charged 1s. per ton.

HURUNUI—BLUFF SECTION.
Class H.—Wool, &c.
Class H, undumped, from Fairlie to Washdyke, will be
charged 2s. 3d. per bale.
This rate will also apply to scoured wool, undumped, in
bales not exceeding 2¾cwt. each, notwithstanding regulation
under Part III.

Hornby to Christchurch, &c.
Sand and shingle from Hornby to stations between Christ-
church and Papanui, inclusive, will be charged 1s. 6d. per ton.
Minimum quantity, 5 tons per truck.

PART V.—CLASSIFICATION OF GOODS.
Bark, native, loose. Owners' risk .. .. N
Laths (native timber), in truck loads .. .. K

PART VI.—WHARVES.
NELSON SECTION.
Nelson Wharf.
Half dues for wharfage to be charged on all goods tran
shipped into or from lighters, &c., from or into vessels lying
alongside the wharf.

Water supplied to Shipping.
A charge of 6s. 8d. per 1,000 gallons will be made for water
supplied to any vessel. Minimum charge, 2s.

Goods for Transhipment.
The clause stating that goods transhipped into lighters
or vessels from vessels lying alongside the wharves will be
charged 1s. per ton is hereby cancelled.
