This settlement is situated about two miles eastward and seaward of the Seadown Railway-station, and about seven miles northward of Timaru; and comprises open flat country, consisting of rich, deep, and partially drained and reclaimed swamp. The pasture is excellent, notwithstanding the thick growth of rushes in places. It is subdivided into nine paddocks, as shown on the sale-plan, by ditch-and-bank and wire fences. The access is by an unmetalled road: that on the eastern boundary requires clearing and forming. There is a small house on Lot No. 4. If the drains were cleaned out and deepened, and a few other cross-drains cut, these lots could be cultivated to great advantage, and made to produce splendid root-crops and pasture, and serve admirably for occupation by dairy-farmers, gardeners, and labourers.
