Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.

Wellington, 2nd October, 1895.

COMPLETE specifications relating to the under-men-
tioned applications for Letters Patent have been
accepted, and are open to public inspection at this office.
Any person may, at any time within two months from the
date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing of opposition
to the grant of any such patent. Such notice must set forth
the particular grounds of objection, and be in duplicate. A
fee of 10s. is payable thereon.

No. 7358.—4th January, 1895.—Edwin Atkinson White-
head, of Broken Hill, New South Wales, Engineer, and Wil-
liam Peter MacGregor, of 454, Collins Street, Melbourne,
Victoria, Gentleman. An invention for a new or improved
method of, and apparatus for, actuating machine sheep-
shears and the like. (Specification, 13s. 6d.; drawings, £1.)*

No. 7480.—12th March, 1895.—Joseph Thomas Andrews,
of 51, Blackheath Road, Greenwich, London, England,
Engineer. An invention for improvements in stair treads,
landings, and coverings of subways, sewer-outlets and the

No. 7685.—19th June, 1895.—John Alston Wallace, of
Ludstone Chambers, 352, Collins Street, Melbourne, Victoria,
Member of the Legislative Council of Victoria (nominee
of the Acme Explosive Proprietary Company, Limited,
of 49, Queen Street, Melbourne aforesaid, assignees of John
Oldfield McArdeil, of Perth, Western Australia, Gentleman).

Authorised Surveyor. An invention entitled "Holt's Tra-

New York, United States of America, Manufacturer. An
invention for improvements in machines for the manufac-

of 3, Union Square, Newington, London, England, Chemist.
An invention for improvements in the manufacture of
mediums for igniting gas by its own action. (Specification,

Christchurch, New Zealand, Plumber. An invention for

ford Street, Dunedin, New Zealand, Engineer. An inven-
tion for an improved presser-screw for bagging chaff and

Meyenberg, of Princess Street, Ashburton, New Zealand,
Engineer. An invention for the "Simplex Detachable
Automatic Cut-off Governor" for back-slide cut-off steam-

Slinn, of 63, Cuba Street, Wellington, New Zealand, Boot-
manufacturer. An invention for a composition for treating
the soles of boots and shoes, being a substitute for making
and colouring. (Specification, 4s.)

No. 7924.—27th September, 1895.—Robert Burton, of
Kurupuni, Masterton, New Zealand, Engineer. An inven-
tion entitled "Burton's Eclipse Stumping-machine." (Speci-
fication, 3s. 6d.; drawings, 5s.)

No. 7928.—21st September, 1895.—James Brimble the
younger, of Greymouth, New Zealand, Tinsmith. An inven-
tion for the instant heating of water for domestic or other
purposes, and to be known as "Brimble's Instant Water-
heater." (Specification, 3s.; drawings, 5s.)

No. 7932.—27th September, 1895.—Henry Cave, Butcher,
and Edward Smirthurst, Agent, both of Rangiora, New
Zealand. An invention for improvements in cruppers for
preventing horses or other suchlike animals from kicking.
(Specification, 4s. 6d.; drawings, 3s.)

No. 7933.—28th September, 1895.—Robert Reid, of
a'Becket Street, Melbourne, Victoria, Engineer. An inven-
tion for improvements in apparatus for transporting cash,
checks, memoranda, and other articles from one part of a
shop or other building to another. (Specification, 13s. 6d.;
drawings, 7s. 6d.)
