Notice of Request to amend Specification.
Patent Office,
Wellington, 21st August, 1895.
A REQUEST for leave to amend the specification (in-
cluding addition of drawings) relating to the under-
mentioned application for Letters Patent has been received,
and is open to public inspection at this office. Any person
may, at any time within one month from the date of this
Gazette, give me notice in writing of opposition to the amend-
ments. Such notice must set forth the particular grounds
of objection, and be in duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable
thereon.
No. 7282.—13th November, 1894.—Alfred Launcelot
James Tait, of Alexandra Street, Dunedin, New Zealand,
Mechanical Electrician, and Walter Henry Pearson, of
Argyle Street, South Dunedin, New Zealand, Gentleman.
An invention for an electric-current generator, entitled
"Tait and Pearson's Revolving Magnetised Wheel Power
Generator."
The nature of the proposed amendments is as follows,
viz.:—
- To alter the name "Alexandra Street," line 4, page 1,
to "Great King Street." - To insert the word "the" immediately before the word
"waste," line 15, page 1. - To insert the words "carriage or car" immediately
before the word "wheels," line 16, page 1. - To strike out the word "in," line 16, page 1.
- To insert between the word "while," line 16, page 1,
and "motion," line 1, page 2, the words "descending inclines,
or when a rapid change to a slower," and the words "is re-
quired, or on other occasions," immediately after the said
word "motion." - To insert immediately after the word "wheel," line 1,
page 2, the words "or wheels of a vehicle, and on one or
both sides of such wheel or wheels." - To strike out the words "and also," line 10, page 2.
- To insert between the words "used," and "in," line 17,
page 2, the words "for any such purpose as aiding to heat
the water in a boiler (if the vehicle has one), or for other
heating purposes." - To insert after the word "desired," at the foot of page 2,
the following words, &c., viz.:—
"Referring to the accompanying drawing,—
"Fig. 1 represents the elevation of a wheel carrying the
usual cores and coils as an armature; these are fixed to discs
secured to the wheel. Fixed cores and coils are secured to
similar discs attached to the axle-bearings.
"Fig. 2 represents an end view of the wheel, showing the
usual commutator and collector arrangements.
"Fig. 3 represents an end view of a fixed side or disc, as
attached to the bearings or frame.
"A A represent a wheel of a vehicle (road or rail).
"B and C represent discs for fixing the various parts of an
energy machine, insulated where required.
"D represents the movable parts of any dynamo, such as
the cores and coils shown.
"E represents the fixed parts, so as to form a complete
machine.
"F represents the commutator and collector arrangements.
"F' represents the reverse side and method of leading the
wires to the boiler or accumulator.
"G represents any car framework.
"H represents any springs, if required."
10. To insert immediately after the word "wheel," line 6,
page 3, the words, &c., "or wheels, of a vehicle."
11. To strike out the words "of any description," line 3,
page 3, and to insert in place thereof the words "for the
purpose of heating, or of accumulating of the said energy."
12. To insert between the words "as," and "described," line
10, page 3, the words "and for the purposes."
13. To insert, after the word "herein," line 11, page 3,
the words "and as illustrated in the accompanying draw-
ing."
14. To attach a sheet of drawings containing three figures.
The applicants state as their reasons for the amendment
that they "on mature reflection consider their claims too
vague, and wish to confine themselves to a definite object."
