Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.

Patent Office,
Wellington, 21st August, 1895.

COMPLETE specifications relating to the under-men-
tioned applications for Letters Patent have been
accepted, and are open to public inspection at this office.
Any person may, at any time within two months from the
date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing, in duplicate,
of opposition to the grant of any such patent, stating in
such notice the particular grounds of his objection. A fee
of 10s. is payable with such notice:—

No. 7270.—17th November, 1894.—Thomas Cook, of Petone,
Wellington, New Zealand, Cooper. An invention for im-
proved machinery for cheaply and expeditiously shaping
staves for use in the manufacture of casks, barrels, &c.
(Specification, 6s. 6d.; drawings, 7s. 6d.)*

No. 7283.—20th November, 1894.—William Frederick
Charles Fail, of Dunedin, New Zealand, Brass-finisher.
An invention for an apparatus for measuring and delivering
special quantities of material, and entitled "Fail's Economic
Canister." (Specification, 4s. 6d.; drawings, 3s.)*

No. 7626.—23rd May, 1895.—Samuel John Lauchlin,
Mechanic, of Waterloo Avenue, and James Hough, Printer,
of Kent Street, both in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. An inven-
tion for improvements in drawing, sketching, and designing
tables. (Specification, £1 13s.; drawings, £1 15s.)

No. 7634.—1st June, 1894.—Edward Lloyd Pease, Engi-
neer, of the firm of Ashmore, Benson, Pease, and Co.
(Limited), Stockton-on-Tees, Durham, England, Gasholder-
manufacturers, and residing at Hurworth-on-Tees, Durham
aforesaid. An invention for a novel or improved structural
arrangement for combining strength with rigidity in a
manner applicable to flooring, walling, and to other structural
purposes. (Specification, 13s. 6d.; drawings, 15s.)

[Note.—This application is readvertised (see Gazette No. 40, of
30th May last) owing to its having been brought under section 106
of "The Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1889." The date
given is that of the application in the United Kingdom.]

No. 7717.—4th July, 1895.—Thomas Holroyd, of 228,
Barkly Street, East Brunswick, Victoria, Draughtsman.
An invention for an improved knife-cleaner. (Specification,
4s. 6d.; drawings, 3s.)

No. 7763.—16th July, 1895.—John Drumm, of Manor
Street, Dunedin, New Zealand, Farrier. An invention for
an ointment for curing stiff joints, contracted sinews, bad

breasts, chilblains, cuts, wounds, burns, scalds, and rheu-
matic affections, to be called "Drumm's Ointment." (Speci-
fication, 1s. 6d.)

No. 7783.—1st August, 1895.—Arthur Selby, of Ashfield,
Sydney, New South Wales, Gas Engineer. An invention
for improvements in cooking-stoves. (Specification, 14s.;
drawings, 12s. 6d.)

No. 7796.—5th August, 1895.—George Turner, of 106,
Colombo Street, Sydenham, Canterbury, New Zealand,
Artist. An invention for a new and improved aerial direc-
tory and trade advertiser. (Specification, 3s. 6d.; draw-
ings, 3s.)

No. 7797.—6th August, 1895.—William Watson, of Maori
Road, Dunedin, New Zealand, Civil and Mining Engineer
and Draughtsman. An invention entitled "Watson's Gold-
amalgamator." (Specification, 3s.; drawings, 5s.)

No. 7799.—8th August, 1895.—Charles Gunerius Even-
sen, of Coromandel, Auckland, New Zealand, Carpenter.
An invention for electrical stampers for ore-crushing.
(Specification, 2s. 6d.; drawings, 5s.)

No. 7801.—8th August, 1895.—Henry William Godfrey
and Charles Frederick Leake, Engineers, and Charles
Edward Lucas, Linoleum-manufacturer, all of Staines,
Middlesex, England. An invention for improvements in
machinery for the manufacture of floorcloths. (Specifica-
tion, £1 7s.; drawings, £3.)

No. 7803.—10th August, 1895.—William Tyree, of 42,
Lambton Quay, Wellington, New Zealand, Photographer.
An invention for improved device for indicating the boiling-
point of kettles and cooking-pots. (Specification, 3s.; draw-
ings, 3s.)

No. 7804.—10th August, 1895.—William Tyree, of 42,
Lambton Quay, Wellington, New Zealand, Photographer.
An invention for a new or improved egg-tester. (Specifica-
tion, 2s. 6d.; drawings, 3s.)

No. 7806.—7th August, 1895.—John Rose, of 2, Com-
mercial Chambers, Manse Street, Dunedin, New Zealand,
Machinist. An invention for an improved apparatus for use
in starting races. (Specification, 12s.; drawings, 5s.)

No. 7811.—8th August, 1895.—Thomas Goodwin, of Ota-
huhu, Auckland, New Zealand, Coachbuilder. An invention
entitled "Goodwin's Adjustable Lamp-socket," applicable to
vehicles of all descriptions. (Specifications, 4s.; draw-
ings, 3s.)

No. 7819.—16th August, 1895.—Alfred Baldwin and
Stanley Baldwin, trading as "E. P. and W. Baldwin," of
Wilden Ironworks, near Stourport, Worcester, England,
