Lands taken for a Road in the Borough of Melrose.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken, under "The Public Works
Act, 1894," for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a
road in the Borough of Melrose:
And whereas the Borough Council of Melrose has laid
before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map,
and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of
the powers and authorities in me vested by "The Public
Works Act, 1894," and of every other power and authority in
anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that, from and after the date of the publication
hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in
the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of the
construction of the said road.

particularly delineated on the plan marked S.G. 26514,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and
thereon coloured as above mentioned.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies;
and issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
at the Government House, at Wellington, this
fourteenth day of August, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five.

Amended Description of Hauraki Mining District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by "The Mining Act, 1891" (hereinafter
termed "the said Act"), I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke
the Proclamation constituting the Hauraki Mining District,
published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 4, of the twenty-
fourth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-nine, and in lieu thereof do hereby proclaim and
declare that the portion of the colony particularly described
in the Schedule hereto shall be the Mining District of Hau-
raki under the said Act, with the boundaries in the said
Schedule mentioned.
SCHEDULE.
North Island.—Hauraki Mining District.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, bounded
towards the north-east generally by the ocean and Tauranga
Harbour, from Cape Colville to the Waipapa River;
thence towards the south-east generally by that river, by
Whakamarara No. 1 Block, and Te Parapara Stream to its
source, thence by a right line to Trig. Station No. 909, at
the southern corner of Whakamarara No. 2 Block, and
thence by Mangatotara Nos. 1A, 1, and 3 Blocks; towards
the south by Okauia No. 3 Block; and towards the south-
west generally by the left bank of the Waihou or Thames
River, the Firth of Thames, and the Hauraki Gulf to Cape
Colville, the place of commencement: save and excepting
