the funds of the Arrowtown District Hospital, Otago. Dis-
missal to date from 10th May, 1895.

THE following special order, made by the Upper
Wangaehu Road Board, is published in accordance
with the provisions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

UPPER WANGAEHU ROAD BOARD.
THAT a special order be made making a special rate of ½d. in
the pound on the rateable property (contained within that
portion of the Upper Wangaehu Road District bounded by
a line commencing at the south-west corner of Section 4,
Heao Block; thence by the boundary of the road district
and the Murimotu Run on the west, north, east, and south
to the south-east corner of the Taumarua Block; thence by
a right line to the source of the Koukoupu Stream; thence
by the Koukoupu Stream to the north-east corner of Run 68,
Ngamatea Survey District; thence by the north-eastern
and eastern boundaries of the said Run 68, Ngamatea Survey
District, to Hale's Road; thence by Hale's Road to the
southern boundary of the Matawhitia Block; thence west-
ward by the southern boundary of the Matawhitia Block,
the Wangaehu River, and the southern boundary of Sec-
tion 4, Heao Block, to the starting-point) liable to be
specially rated under the provisions of "The Local Bodies'
Loans Act, 1886," and "The Government Loans to Local
Bodies Act, 1886," the said rate to be for the purpose of pro-
viding interest and sinking fund for 10-per-cent. loan of £484
(on the original £4,842 loan) obtained under the provisions of
the said Acts for construction of the Wangaehu Valley
Road, and shall be an annually-recurring rate, payable in
two equal half-yearly instalments on the 1st day of May and
the 1st day of November, and on the same day of each year,
until the loan in respect of which the said rate is made is
paid off.

a meeting of the Upper Wangaehu Road Board held on the
1st September, 1894, and confirmed at a special meeting of

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Tuapeka County

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of
the Tuapeka County Council, is published in accord-
ance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1886."

TUAPEKA COUNTY.
I, JAMES BENNET, Chairman of the Council of the County of
Tuapeka, do hereby give public notice that at a poll, taken
on the 11th day of June, 1895, of the ratepayers of all the
ridings of Tuapeka County on the following proposal—
namely, to raise the sum of £4,500 by way of loan under and
subject to the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1886," for the construction of a bridge over the Clutha River
at Miller's Flat; also, to pay the first year's interest of
and the cost of raising said loan out of the said loan, a
special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon all rateable
property within the County of Tuapeka, to be made and
levied over the whole district of Tuapeka County as security
for said loan and interest and charges thereon, the said
special rate to be an annually-recurring rate for a term of
twenty-six years, the sum of £225 to be set apart in each
year towards paying of said loan for a period of twenty-six
years—the number of votes recorded for and against the fore-
going proposal were as follows: For the proposal, 766 votes;
against the proposal, 1 vote: Number of votes exercisable,
1,428.
And, a majority in number of ratepayers having voted in
favour of the proposal, and the number so voting being
entitled to more than one-half in number of the votes which
can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers of all
the ridings of the County of Tuapeka, I hereby declare the
resolution in favour of the foregoing proposal to be carried.

PATEA COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE is hereby given that the result of the poll taken on
Monday, 17th June, 1895, on the proposal to borrow £2,500
for constructing a road-bridge over the Whenuakura River,
under "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886," and amend-
ments, is as follows:—
Number of ratepayers on roll, 550; number of votes exer-
cisable, 935: Number of ratepayers who voted for proposal,
295; number of votes exercised for proposal, 567; number
of ratepayers who voted against proposal, nil; number of
votes exercised against proposal, nil; number of ratepayers
voting informally, 3; number of votes exercised infor-
mally, 5.
A majority of votes having been recorded for the proposal,
and a majority of voters voting for the proposal, I hereby
declare the proposal carried.

Revocation of Appointment of Bonding Warehouse.
CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the authority in me for this
purpose vested, I, the Commissioner of Trade and
Customs, do, by this order under my hand, revoke and
annul the appointment of the under-mentioned warehouse
for the reception and security of goods entered to be ware-
housed without payment of duty upon the first entry thereof,
namely:—
Port of Timaru.
The warehouse known as
MILES, ARCHER, AND CO.'S BOND,
as appointed and described in Commissioner's Order No. 156,
of the 29th December, 1881.
