enabling me in this behalf, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, do hereby revoke the Proclamation dated the
eighteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-four, and in lieu thereof do proclaim and declare that
all the provisions of the said Act relating to mining districts
and to Wardens' Courts shall have operation within the land
described in the Schedule hereto, excepting sections two
hundred and twenty to two hundred and twenty-nine inclusive
of the said Act, and Part III. of the regulations made there-
under, and issued on the twenty-third day of December, one
thousand eight hundred and ninety-one.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by
admeasurement 11,000 acres, more or less, situated in Nen-
thorn and Silver Peak Survey Districts. Bounded towards
the north by Blocks VII. and VIII., Nenthorn Survey Dis-
trict, and Blocks VIII. and IX., Silver Peak Survey District;
towards the north-east by Section 1, Block VII., Silver Peak
Survey District; towards the south by Section 1, Block V.,
and Section I., Block IV., Silver Peak Survey District;
towards the south-east by Sweetwater Creek; and towards
the south-west generally by the Taieri River.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of
February, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-five.

A PROCLAMATION.
I N exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by "The River Boards Act, 1884," I, David,
Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after
the date hereof that part of the said colony described in the
Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby constituted a
district under the said Act, and shall be known by the name
of the Papakura River District, and that the number of the
members who are to constitute the Board of the said district
shall be five. And I do also proclaim and declare that Wil-
liam Waterhouse, of Taradale, shall be the Returning Officer
to conduct the first election of five members of the aforesaid
Board; that Saturday, the twenty-third day of March, one
thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, shall be the day,
and the Meanee Hall, Meanee, shall be the place, for holding
such first elections; and that Saturday, the thirtieth day of
March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, at seven
o'clock in the evening, shall be the time, and the said Meanee
Hall shall be the place, at which the first meeting of the
members of the Board of the said Papakura River District
shall be held. And, lastly, I do proclaim and declare that
the aforesaid William Waterhouse shall be the person to
make a roll of electors for the purposes of the aforesaid first
elections in the manner prescribed by section eight of the
said "River Boards Act, 1884."
SCHEDULE.
PAPAKURA RIVER DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District, situated
in the Heretaunga and Clive Survey Districts, and contain-
ing by admeasurement 3,750 acres, more or less, bounded
towards the north-east and north-west generally by the
Tutaekuri River; thence again towards the north-east by
the road forming the north-eastern boundaries of Sections
Nos. 39, 40, 41, 42, and 43 of the Whare-o-maraenui Block,
Block VIII., Heretaunga Survey District, to the Meanee-
Awatoto Road; thence again towards the north-west and
north by that road and the Whare-o-maraenui Block re-
spectively; towards the east by the Napier-Clive Road to
the Waitangi Bridge; towards the south generally by the
Waitangi River to its confluence with Totara Creek, thence
by that creek, the Puniuiga Block, the Pakowhai Block, and
the road forming the north-western boundary of the last-
mentioned block, to a point on the northern side of that road
distant 1519 links easterly from the road from Waiohiki to
Farndon; and thence towards the south-west by a right line
bearing north 29° 32' west to the Tutaekuri River, intersect-
ing original Sections Nos. 40, 39, 33, 32, 28, Native Reserve,
Section No. 26, and Native land.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Municipal Corporations Act,
1886," it is, amongst other things, enacted that the
Governor may at any time, upon the petition of the Mayor
and Council of a borough, publicly notified, by a Proclama-
tion, alter the boundaries of such borough so as to include
therein any part of the foreshore or any land reclaimed from
the sea adjacent to such borough: And whereas a petition
has been presented to me by the Mayor and Councillors of
the Borough of New Plymouth, praying me to alter the
boundaries of the said borough so as to include therein the
piece of land described in the First Schedule hereto, being
land reclaimed from the sea and foreshore adjacent to the
said borough:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers
and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the said
borough are hereby altered so as to include within the limits
of the said borough the land described in the First Schedule
hereto; and that the said borough shall henceforth be
bounded as specified in the Second Schedule hereto; and,
further, that the boundaries of the Central Ward of the said
borough shall be those described in the Third Schedule
hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
LAND INCLUDED.
ALL that area in the Land District of Taranaki, adjoining
the Borough of New Plymouth, containing by admeasure-
ment 1 acre 3 roods. Bounded towards the south-east and
south-west by the Borough of New Plymouth, as described
in Gazette No. 45, 17th August, 1876; and towards the
north by a stone wall, 525·2 links; thence by a line across
the mouth of the Huatoki Stream, bearing north 67° 59' 18"
west, for a distance of 129·2 links, to the foot of the rubble
wall; and thence by a line along the foot of the said rubble
wall to the Borough of New Plymouth hereinbefore men-
tioned.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
BOROUGH OF NEW PLYMOUTH.—EXTENDED BOUNDARIES.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded by a
line commencing at the western side of Cutfield Road, at
high-water mark of the sea, and proceeding thence easterly
along high-water mark to the foot of the rubble wall;
thence along the foot of the said rubble wall, 729·3 links;
thence along a line bearing south 67° 59' 18" east, across the
mouth of the Huatoki Stream, 129·2 links; thence along the
seaward edge of stone wall 525·2 links; thence along high-
water mark to the eastern boundary of Reserve R; thence
southerly along a right line bearing south 35° east magnetic,
500 links, to the Henui River; thence along the left bank
of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern bound-
ary-line of Native Reserve No. 16, Purakau; thence along
a right line across that river, and north-easterly along the
south-eastern boundary of the said Native reserve, 300 links:
thence generally southerly along a right line bearing south
57° 35' east, 489 links, to the south side of Devon Street;
thence along a line bearing south 50° 20' east, 493 links;
thence along a right line bearing south 4° 12' west,
461 links; thence along a right line bearing south 35° west,
502 links; thence along a right line bearing south 57° 46'
east, 703 links; thence along a right line bearing south
55° west to the left bank of the Henui River; thence along
the left bank of that river to the northern boundary-line of
