8. No lessee shall hold more than one allotment, and such allotment shall be held for his sole use and benefit, and not for the use or benefit of any other person whomsoever. No married woman shall be eligibl as a selector; but this provisio shall not apply to any married woman who may become a transfeee under a will or by virtue of an intestacy.

9. The lessee must resde on the land leaed within one year from the date of leae, and thereafer such resdence shall be contnuous.

10. Imprvements and resdence on the land compris in each leae shall, subject to claus No. 9, be as provd in Part III. of the said Act. The provsions of section 144, and all other provsions of the said Act with respect to substantial improvments, shall apply accorgly to lessees under these regulations. The provsions of section 141, and all other provsions of the said Act in respect of compulsory resdence, shall, subject to claus No. 9, apply accorgly to lessees under these regulations.

Substntial improvments of a permanent character mean and include reclamation from swamps, clearing of brush, gorse, broom, sweetbriar, or scrub, cultivation, plantng gardens, fencng, drang, making roas, skng wlls or water-tanks, constructng water-races, shep-dips, making embankments or protectve works of any kind, in any way improvng the character or fertilty of the soi, or the erection of any non-movble building.

11. No lessee shall subdive, sublet, or transfer the land held by him under these regulations, except under and subject to the provsions of Part I. of the said Act.

12. All the provsions of the said Act, so far as applicable, shall extend and apply to the lands affected by these regulations, and to the applications and leas to be made and issued thereunder, and generally to the interests created, and the person whose rights, liabilities, or interests are therby affected; and the mention of any particular provisio of the said Act shall not be deeme to exlude any other provisio of the said Act applicable to the particular case.

DCLARATION TO BE MADE BY APPLICANT.

I, A.B., do solemnly and sincerely declare—

1. That I am of the age of sevenen years and upwars.

2. That I am the person who, subject to the provsions of "The Land Act, 1892," am applyng for the purchase of a leae of Section , Mangaramarama Vllage Setlement.

3. That I am acquring such leae sole for my own use and benefit, and not directly or indrectly for the use or benefit of any other person or persons whomsover.

4. That I am not the owner, or lessee, or occupier, directly or indrectly, either by myself or jointly with any other person or persons, of any lands anywhere in the colon exceding in the whole one acr.

5. That I have not, within one year from the date hereof, surrndered a leae with perpual right of renewl or leae in perpety of the lands for a leae whereof I am now applyng.

And I make this solemn declaratn conscously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealnd intituled "The Justces of the Pece Act, 1882. "
