PART IV.—LOCAL RATES.

The following rates will be charged upon the lines herein specified, instead of
the classified rates specified in Part III. Small lots will be charged as specified in
Part III., unless otherwise provided to the contrary. Except in the respects spe-
cified herein, the general regulations under Part III. will apply:—

KAWAKAWA SECTION.

Goods of Classes A, B, C, D, E, and H will be charged as Class A, weight or
measurement, as the department may direct.
Flax, native, dressed, pressed, from Kawakawa to Opua, will be charged at the
classified rate for Class D.
Native coals, Class Q, from the Kawakawa Coal-mine to port for shipment, will
be charged 2s. per ton, including weighing and discharging into ships.
Goods of Classes F, M, and N, 15s. per truck.
Goods of Class K, 9d. per 100 superficial feet.

WHANGAREI SECTION.

For the purpose of charging for the conveyance of goods, the section will be
divided into three subsections, as below :—
Opau to Kamo.
Kamo to Hikurangi.
Hikurangi to Waro.
The rates for goods will be as follow :—

The minimum charge for goods of Classes A, B, C, D, E will be, for one sub-
section, 1s. ; for two subsections, 1s. 6d. ; for three subsections, 2s.
The charge for any portion of a subsection will be the same as for the whole
subsection.
The minimum quantity of goods of Classes N, P, Q will be as per regulations
under Part III. of the Scale of Charges. Any less quantity will be charged as such
minimum or at the above rates for A, B, C, D, E goods.
Goods of Classes A, B, C, D, E will be charged by weight or measurement, at the
option of the department. The rate includes all charges, and will apply in lieu of
small-lots rates.
Goods of Classes P and Q consigned from Waro to Opau for shipment will be
charged 2s. per ton, including weighing and delivery to ship by skip.
Goods of Classes P and Q consigned from Ruatangata to Opau for shipment will
be charged 1s. 10d. per ton, including weighing and delivery to ship by skip.
The minimum charge for carts, drays, wagons, and carriages will be 5s. each.
Sixpence per ton per day storage will be charged on all goods not removed within
three working-days of their arrival.

KAIHU SECTION.

Goods of Classes A, B, C, D, E, and H will be charged as Class A.
Classes F and M will be charged as Class M.
Classes N and P will be charged as Class N.
