IT is hereby notified that the North Queensland Insurance
Company propose to commence and carry on business
at the City of Christchurch, in the Provincial District of
Canterbury, in the Colony of New Zealand, at the offices of
Messrs. Fletcher, Humphreys, and Co., situated in Cathedral
Square, in the said City of Christchurch.

SPECIAL ORDER.

RESOLVED, That the road described in the schedule
hereto be made a county road under the provisions of
"The Public Works Act, 1882," and its amendments, and
that this order shall take effect on and after the date of
gazetting thereof.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of the road in the Waipawa Road District
known as the Patangata Road which commences at the
north-western corner of Section No. 1, Block XVII. (Rich-
mond Park), Waipukurau Survey District, on the Great
North Road, and proceeds in a generally easterly and north-
easterly direction, passing the said Section No. 1, and inter-
secting part Block XXXVII., to the boundary-line between
the Counties of Waipawa and Patangata; the length of the
said road being about 76 chains, and its width generally
1 chain; as the same is delineated on the Waipawa County
map.

HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE is hereby given that a survey has been made,
and a plan prepared, showing the extension through
the sections numbered respectively 78 and 100 on the plan
of the Ohariu District, of a public road leading from Makara
to Johnsonville, and the lands proposed to be taken for the
purpose of extending such road, and the names of the owners
and occupiers of the lands so proposed to be taken, so far as
the same can be ascertained; and that a copy of such plan
has been deposited at the residence of Mr. Frank Anson
Majendie, at Ohariu, where the same may be inspected by
all persons at reasonable hours.
The work proposed to be undertaken is the construction of
an extension of the above-mentioned road through the said
sections. The lands proposed to be taken are those shown
as coloured respectively green, pink, blue, and yellow on the
said plan, and are—Firstly, a parcel of land forming part of
the said section numbered 78, of irregular shape, but having
a width perpendicular to the longer boundaries thereof of 100
links, and being the part marked A and coloured green on
the said plan; secondly, a parcel of land also forming part
of the said section numbered 78, of irregular shape, but
having a like width as aforesaid perpendicular to the longer
boundaries thereof, and being the part marked B and
coloured pink on the said plan; thirdly, a parcel of land
forming part of the said section numbered 100, of irregular
shape, but having a like width as aforesaid, perpendicular to
the longer boundaries thereof, and being the part marked C
and coloured blue on the said plan; fourthly, a parcel of
land also forming part of the said section numbered 100, of
irregular shape, but having a like width as aforesaid perpen-
dicular to the longer boundaries thereof, and being the part
marked D and coloured yellow on the said plan.
All persons affected are hereby required to set forth in
writing any well-grounded objection to the execution of the
proposed work or to the taking of the said lands, and to
send such writing, within forty days from the first publica-
tion hereof, to the Hutt County Council, at their offices in
Lambton Quay, in the City of Wellington.

NOTICE TO OPEN A ROAD UNDER "THE PUBLIC WORKS
ACT, 1882," AND AMENDMENTS THEREOF.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that it is the intention of
the Waipa County Council to open a road 2337 links
long (more or less) and 100 links wide on the eastern
boundary of Section 272, Parish of Mangapiko, Puniu Sur-
vey District, Block I.

Plans of the road to be taken are now open for public
inspection at the County Council Chambers, Ohaupo; and
objections (if any) to the taking of the said road must be
lodged in writing and addressed to the Chairman at Ohaupo
within forty days from date hereof.

TAKING LANDS FOR PUBLIC WORKS.

Pursuant to the provisions of "The Public Works Act, 1882,"
and the Acts amending the same, and "The Road Boards
Act, 1882," and the Acts amending the same, and all
other powers in that behalf thereunto enabling them.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the
Mandeville and Rangiora Road Board to construct a
drain, and for this work the following lands are required to
be taken:—

  • Approximate Area of each of the Parcels of Land required to be taken:

the nature of the work proposed to be executed, and the
lands required to be taken, as detailed in the above list, are
deposited at the Mandeville and Rangiora Road Board Office,
Rangiora, and are open to inspection by all persons at all
reasonable hours.
All persons affected are required to set forth in writing any
well-grounded objections to the execution of the said works
or to the taking of the said lands, and send such writing
within forty days from the first publication of this notice to
the said Board, at its office, Rangiora.

PALMERSTON NORTH ANCHOR BOOT COMPANY
(LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general
meeting of shareholders of the above-mentioned
company, held at the registered office thereof, on Tuesday,
the 23rd day of January, 1894, the following extraordinary
resolution was duly passed, namely:—
"That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the meeting
that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, con-
tinue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the
same, and accordingly that the company be wound up
voluntarily."
And notice is further given that the shareholders at the
same meeting appointed George Johnson Scott, of Pal-
merston North, accountant, to be Liquidator for the purposes
of winding up the said company, and that he has accepted
the said office.
