Notice of Request to amend Specification.
Patent Office,
Wellington, 30th August, 1894.
A REQUEST to be allowed to amend the specification relating to the under-mentioned application for Letters Patent has been received, and is open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time within one month from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing of opposition to the amendment. Such notice must set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be in duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable thereon:—
No. 6484.—HENRY THOMAS SELWOOD, of Parrawa, Southland, New Zealand, Rabbit-trapper. An invention for “Selwood Pan-protector for Rabbit-traps.”
The nature of the proposed amendments is as follows, viz.:—

By inserting after the descriptive portion of the specification, and before the claim, the words “I wish it to be understood that I am aware of the application for patent by A. Arthur, of Hyde, Otago, No. 6457, date 25th September, 1893.”

By striking out all the words constituting the present claim, on page 3, and inserting in place thereof the following words, i.e.: “The pan-protector for rabbit-traps substantially as described herein, and illustrated on the accompanying drawing.”
The applicant states that his reason for making the amendment is to more concisely state what is claimed.
