of Blenheim, New Zealand, Printer. An invention for a
self-registering electric machine for automatically recording
the number of votes polled for each candidate either for
parliamentary, municipal, or other elections for public or
private institutions.
No. 6607.-9th January, 1894.-JOHN WELSBY, of Wel-
lington, New Zealand, Engineer. An invention for improve-
ments in grip-brake apparatus in connection with lifts,
elevators, or similar machinery, and more particularly the
grip-plates in connection with the cage, car, or movable
platform of such machinery.
No. 6609.-9th January, 1894.-CHARLES BRISTOW, of
Marton, New Zealand, Settler. An invention for surveyors'
adjustable centring-rod.
No. 6611.-11th January, 1894.-JOHN GEORGE BESWICK,
Postmaster, and SIDNEY TREVOR, Gentleman, both of
Waiuku, Auckland, New Zealand. An invention for an im-
proved process and apparatus for preparing kauri-gum, and
utilising kauri-gum dust.
No. 6612.-11th January, 1894.-SIMON DAVIS, of Wel-
lington, New Zealand, Oil Merchant. An invention for an
improved lubricant.
No. 6616.-13th January, 1894.-DONALD ARCHIBALD
DOUGLAS, of Blenheim, New Zealand, Architect. An in-
vention for "Douglas Slide-action Propellers for Steam-
vessels."
No. 6623.-13th January, 1894.-NEIL LAMONT, of Princes
Street, Auckland, New Zealand, Upholsterer. An invention
for "Lamont Sofa-bed Combination."
