  1. The first claimant who proves to the satisfaction of the
    Government that he has fulfilled all the conditions is to be
    the recipient of the bonus.
  2. Evidence to be produced of such a nature as will enable
    an officer appointed by the Government to certify that the
    above-stated quantity in each year has been actually made,
    sold, and delivered.
  3. The bonus to be paid only on the certificate of such
    officer.

Bonus for the Manufacture of Glass Bottles.

Colonial Secretary's Office,
Wellington, 20th December, 1893.

NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus will be paid on
glass bottles manufactured in the Colony of New
Zealand, on the following conditions:—

  1. A bonus of 10s. per gross will be paid on the first seven
    hundred and fifty (750) gross of glass bottles manufactured
    and sold at the following prices :—
    Sauce, pints, 18s. per gross.
    Sauce, half-pints, 16s. per gross.
    One-pound jams, 18s. per gross.
    Two-pound jams, 24s. per gross.
    Anchovies, 12s. per gross.
    Pickles, 19s. per gross.
    Lemonade, 20s. to 23s. per gross.
    Soda-water, 20s. to 22s. 6d. per gross.
  2. Notice of intention to claim the bonus must be given
    in writing to the Colonial Secretary on or before the 1st
    February, 1894.
  3. The claim must be made before the 1st February, 1895.

Prizes for Collections of Noxious Weeds and Insects.—

THE date for receiving the collections mentioned in
Gazette Notice No. 365, and dated the 7th April, 1893,
has been extended to the 31st March, 1894.

Prizes for Collections of Dried Specimens of Grasses and

Forage Plants.—Notice No. 369.

Department of Agriculture,
Wellington, 9th May, 1893.

PRIZES offered for collections of dried specimens of
grasses and forage plants, introduced and native, pro-
minence being given to the most useful indigenous species.
First prize, £25; second, £15.
All specimens must have been gathered in the colony.
Each specimen must be mounted on paper, 18in. by 11in.,
and bear, if possible, both popular and scientific names, also
the name of the locality where obtained.
The collections winning the prizes are to become the pro-
perty of the department, where they will remain on exhibi-
tion, with the names of the collectors affixed.
All collections for competition must be delivered at the
office of the Secretary for Agriculture, at the Government
Buildings, Wellington, not later than the 31st March, 1894.
Each collection must be marked with a motto, and be
accompanied by a sealed envelope containing a copy of such
motto, together with the full name and address of the
exhibitor.
The unsuccessful exhibits will be returned to the owners
carriage-free.
The judges have power to withhold the prizes if they are
of opinion that none of the collections are worthy of an
award.

Notice of the Laying-off of a Road over Lands in the

Wellington Land District.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, under
the authority of "The Native Land Court Act, 1886," and its
amendments, that the road described in the Schedule hereto
was, on the 17th July, 1893, duly taken and laid off through
the lands specified in the said Schedule, under the authority
of the Governor of the said colony, by a warrant dated the
17th September, 1891.

SCHEDULE.

Road over Land being Parts of Ohau No. 3 Block,
Section 10, and Ohau No. 3A Block, Sections 5, 6,
7, 8, Wellington Land District.

All that area in Block IV., Waitohu, and Block V., Wai-
opehu Survey Districts, containing by admeasurement
6 acres 3 roods 24 perches, more or less, being a road not
less than 50 links in width, the centre-line of which com-
mences at a point 25 links from the north-east corner of
Subdivision 8 of Ohau No. 3A, No. 2 (marked D on the
plan hereinafter referred to), and proceeds generally in a
north-westerly direction to its junction with the County
Road at the north-west corner of Subdivision 5 of Ohau
No. 3A, No. 2 (marked A on the plan hereinafter referred
to): the same being more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W. 680, deposited in the District Lands and Sur-
vey Office, Wellington.

Judges appointed to try a certain Election Petition.

In the Supreme Court of New Zealand.—In the matter of
"The Election Petitions Act, 1880."

IT is hereby notified that I have, in pursuance of the pro-
visions of "The Election Petitions Act, 1880," named
myself and his Honour Mr. Justice CONOLLY to be the
Judges of the Supreme Court before whom shall be tried
the petition presented by Jackson Palmer against the return
of Richard Monk as Member of the House of Representatives
for the Electoral District of Waitemata.

In the Supreme Court of New Zealand.—In the matter of
"The Election Petitions Act, 1880."

IT is hereby notified that I have, in pursuance of the pro-
visions of "The Election Petitions Act, 1880," named
myself and his Honour Mr. Justice RICHMOND to be the
Judges of the Supreme Court before whom shall be tried
the petition presented by Robert James Lindsay and John Kobelt
against the return of Sir Robert Stout, K.C.M.G., as member
of the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of
the City of Wellington.

Civil Service Senior Examination.

IN pursuance of regulations under "The Civil Service
Reform Act, 1886," notice is hereby given that for the
Senior Examination of January, 1895, the period of literature
will be the latter end of the eighteenth century, and the
special books will be Shakespeare's "Julius Cæsar" and
Thackeray's "Esmond."
