Officiating Ministers for 1894.—Notice No. 13.

PURSUANT to the provisions of an Act of the General
Assembly of New Zealand, passed in the forty-fourth
year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, and in-
tituled "The Marriage Act, 1880," the following names of
Officiating Ministers within the meaning of the said Act are
published for general information:—
Church of the Province of New Zealand, commonly called
the Church of England.
The Reverend William Lambert.
Presbyterian Church of New Zealand.
The Reverend Alexander McKenzie, M.A., B.D.
The Reverend Charles Connor, jun.
Presbyterian Church of Otago and Southland.
The Reverend James Clarke.
Baptists.
The Reverend William Drew.

By-law for New Zealand Government Railways.
THE New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers conferred by "The
Government Railways Act, 1887," do hereby make the
following by-law (in substitution for No. 9 of the by-laws
dated 25th October, 1882), that is to say:—
BY-LAW.
Any person joining a train at a booking-station without
having previously provided himself with a ticket shall, on
demand by any Stationmaster or person authorised by a
Stationmaster, or by the guard in charge of the train, pay
sixpence in addition to the ordinary fare.
Every person who shall commit a breach of the provisions
of this by-law shall, upon conviction, be liable to a penalty
not exceeding £10.

Alteration and Addition to the Scale of Fares and Charges
in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.
THE New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers conferred by "The
Government Railways Act, 1887," do hereby make the fol-
lowing alteration in and addition to the scale of fares,
rates, and charges on the New Zealand Government Rail-
ways, to come into force on and after the 3rd day of
May, 1894:—
PART I.—PASSENGERS.
GENERAL FARES AND REGULATIONS.
When tickets are issued in the train to passengers entering
at any station where there is an officer in charge, instead of
being issued from the booking-office at such station, sixpence
in addition to the ordinary fare will be charged.

Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares and Charges
in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.
THE New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers conferred by "The
Government Railways Act, 1887," do hereby make the fol-
lowing alterations in and additions to the scale of fares,
rates, and charges on the New Zealand Government Rail-
ways, to come into force on and after the 7th day of May,
1894:—
PART III.—GOODS.
REGULATIONS.—(10.) CLASS P.
Any less quantity than 1½ tons of the following goods will
be charged as 1½ tons, Class P, or as Class E (actual
weight), single rate: Bonedust, guano, manure-salt, rock-
salt, salt for agricultural or pastoral purposes, soot, and
artificial manure.
PART IV.—LOCAL RATES.
AUCKLAND SECTION.
When goods of Classes A, B, C, D, E are consigned to
Auckland, except such as are consigned to private sidings at
that station, or to the Auckland Railway Wharf for shipment
there, both the classified rates, Part III., and the local rates
will be increased by 1s. 8d. per ton, except otherwise speci-
fied. The minimum charge for small lots will be 1s. 4d.,
except for small lots of Class E goods, poultry, butter, and
other articles enumerated in section 3 of Part III.

following alterations in and additions to the scale of
fares, rates, and charges on the New Zealand Government
Railways, to come into force on and after the 7th day of
May, 1894:—
PART I.—PASSENGERS.
LOCAL FARES AND REGULATIONS.
Hurunui—Bluff Section.
For the purpose of charging fares between Dunedin and
Burke's the distance will be counted as 4 miles.
PART IV.—GOODS: LOCAL RATES.
Kaihu Section.
Class K, consigned to Dargaville for shipment, will be
charged 9d. per 100 superficial feet for distances over 10
miles and not over 17 miles.
Hurunui—Bluff Section.
The distance between Dunedin and Burke's, for the pur-
pose of computing the charges, will be deemed to be 4 miles.
PART VI.—WHARVES.
Hurunui—Bluff Section.
PORT CHALMERS WHARVES.
Charges for Use of the Wharves.
For every vessel lying at the wharves, or within the limits
of the railway, for each day or part thereof, for each ton
register, one farthing. Maximum charge per ton register,
1d. per month. The minimum charge to be £1, and the
maximum charge to be £15, per month or part of a month
respectively.

IT is hereby notified for general information that
THOMAS RICHARD WINSBURY PHILPOTTS,
Police Constable, has been appointed to be Agent to the
Public Trustee at Reefton, from the 1st day of April, 1894,
in the place of Constable Hawksworth, who has retired.
