I, , of , veterinary surgeon, appointed in that behalf for the Colony of , having made a thorough inquiry respecting, and a careful examination of, the stud stock about to be shipped from the Port of by the , of which is the master, for the Port of , which are more particularly described in the Schedule below, and having made the like inquiry respecting, and examination of, all ship's stock on board, or about to be put on board, such vessel for the use of the passengers or crew (particulars of which are also given below), and having also obtained the declaration by the owner or breeder of such stock, provided for by No. 26 of the regulations issued for the said colony in that behalf, together with the relative certificates by the proper Inspector in regard thereto, and being satisfied that such stock have been not less than fourteen days in Great Britain or Ireland, do hereby solemnly and sincerely declare that none of the said stock are infected with any infectious or contagious disease, and that all the requirements of these regulations up to the present time with respect to such stock have been duly complied with. And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the Imperial Parliament of Great Britain and Ireland intituled "The Statutory Declarations Act, 1835."

Joint Declaration of Health by Captain or Master of Foreign Vessel and Attendant on Stock.

We, the undersigned, , master of the ship , and , attendant on the imported stock, from the Port of , do hereby solemnly and sincerely severally declare that the statements contained in the Schedule hereunder written with regard to the stock therein mentioned are true; and we further solemnly and sincerely declare that no disease of any kind has shown itself on any stock on board the said vessel during the voyage from to , and that no stock on the said vessel are now infected, or, in our opinion, likely to be infected, with infectious or contagious disease. (If any disease shall have shown itself during the voyage, the declaration must state the nature of such disease, its effect on the animal or animals affected, and the time during which any such animal was affected.) And we make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and under and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled "The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882."

We, the undersigned, Inspector of Stock, and veterinary surgeon, having satisfied ourselves that all the requirements of the above-named Acts, and of those regulations with respect to the declarations and certificates to be made, granted, and produced for the , more particularly described in the Schedule below, and with respect also to the vessel by which such have arrived, and having carefully examined such , do hereby certify that such are infected with [or are apparently free from infection].

SCHEDULE XII.—(REGULATION 36.)

Importer's Bond and Guarantee.

Know all men by these presents that we , of , the owner [or consignee] of the stock herein referred to, and , of , and , of , in the Colony of New Zealand, sureties, are jointly and severally held and firmly bound unto Her Majesty the Queen (who with her heirs and successors is herein included in the term "Her said Majesty") in the sum of (£ ), to be paid to Her said Majesty. For which payment, to be well and truly made, we bind ourselves and each of us, and our and each of our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and severally by these presents. Whereas the imported stock more particularly described in the Schedule hereto arrived at , on the day of last, by the ship : And whereas the owner [or consignee] of such stock has requested that the said stock may, if found free from infection, be removed to quarantine, subject to the conditions set forth in the regulations made under "The Stock Act, 1893": Now, the condition of this bond or obligation is such that if the said do and shall faithfully carry out the conditions contained in the above-mentioned regulations, and pay all charges and expenses necessarily incurred in connection with the quarantine of such stock, and in the treatment and maintenance of the same during the period of quarantine, and also all the charges and expenses incurred by the Inspector of Stock in respect of such stock, as well as all other charges and expenses payable under the said regulations, then this bond shall be void and of none effect, otherwise it shall remain in full force and virtue.
